    Abstract: A fluid machine including a device disposed in the inlet passage of the fluid machine for retarding pump cavitational surging at low flow rates. The device includes an annulus assembly having a series of curved radially disposed vanes for capturing fluid backflowing from the pumping chamber and redirecting same toward the center of the inlet passageway.
