  • Patent number: 5245008
Abstract: A process for the purification of insulins and insulin derivatives by chromatography in aqueous, buffered solvents which contain water-miscible organic solvents, on lipophilically modified silica gel, is described, wherein the aqueous, buffered solvents contain zwitterions, or the pH of the solvent mixture is in the vicinity of the isoelectric point of the insulin or insulin derivative to be purified and zwitterions are present.

  • Patent number: 4029641
Abstract: A process for the simultaneous obtention of insulin and pancreatin from fresh or deep frozen swine pancreases by extracting the glands at a pH of about 5 to 7 with a reaction mixture containing at least 40% of acetone, separating the extracted substance and the remaining solids, instantly adjusting the solids to a pH of above 5.6 with a buffer, and then recovering insulin from the extraction mixture and pancreatin from the solids.
