Abstract: A schema is provided that describes specific executables and parameters. Relationships between the executables and parameters are also defined. The schema is provided to represent SCM and IM tasks uniformly. Information regarding a specific component is represented by the schema. The schema may then be used to describe metadata for specific components. For example, the schema provides information for components such as how the component is comprised (its parts), its relationship to other components (i.e., dependencies), its parameters, the parameters' constraints and dependencies, etc. This provides a universal framework that is independent of specific component and can be used for SCM as well as for IM.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for presenting data within a computing environment including an application program interface. The method includes creating a tagged data object for storing data, encapsulating a data element into the tagged data object to provide a tagged data, and packing the tagged data by converting the tagged data into a binary representation of the tagged data. The tagged data includes a corresponding tag id and the encapsulated data element. Another aspect of the present invention includes unpacking a packed tagged data by converting the packed tagged data from a binary representation into a tagged data, creating a tagged data object for storing the tagged data, and extracting a data element from the tagged data.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for mapping a descriptive language including a data description having a structure complexity into an object oriented data presentation includes identifying the data description and creating an object oriented class including an internal static class, wherein the internal static class corresponds to the structure complexity of the data description. A feature of the present invention is a method for mapping a Schema including a structural complexity into an object oriented language including a functionality to provide a one to one correspondence between the structural complexity of the semantical language and the functionality of the object oriented language.
