  • Patent number: 10534088
Abstract: A method and system for assisting mobile stations to locate a satellite use an efficient messaging format. A server computes a correction between coarse orbit data of a satellite and precise orbit data of the satellite. A coordinate system is chosen such that variation of the correction is substantially smooth over time. The server further approximates the correction with mathematical functions to reduce the number of bits necessary for transmission to a mobile station. The mobile station, upon receiving the coefficients, evaluates the mathematical functions using the coefficients and a time of applicability (e.g., the current time), converts the evaluated result to a standard coordinate system, and applies the conversion result to the coarse orbit data to obtain the precise orbit data.

  • Patent number: 10133411
Abstract: A mobile station and unattached work area is used with an electronic pen, which includes a transmitter, such as an acoustic transmitter. The mobile station includes a receiver that receives signals from the transmitter and orientation sensors that detect movement of the mobile station. The position of the receiver is calibrated with respect to the unattached work area. Data from the orientation sensors is received when the mobile station, and thus, the receiver is moved with respect to the work area. A transformation matrix is generated based on the data from the orientation sensors, which can be used to correct for the movement of the receiver. The position of the transmitter in the electronic pen is calculated and mapped based on received signals and the transformation matrix and the mapped position is then displayed.

  • Patent number: 10025905
Abstract: Methods and devices are disclosed for managing a resource of a communication device configured to process and communicate medical data in addition to other data. The systems and devices may implement the method, including determining whether to switch to a medical mode based on at least one signal. In response to determining to switch to the medical mode, the communication device may be switched to the medical mode. A resource status associated with a plurality of resources used by the communication device may be weighed against a medical data criticality associated with the medical data managed by the communication device. The method may include allocating a resource of the plurality of resources on a sliding priority scale. The allocating may include allocating a resource of the plurality of resources preferentially to the medical data over the other data.
