  • Patent number: 5222689
Abstract: An aircraft having magnetic suspension systems adapted to be used as a winged surface effect aircraft, as a conventional type aircraft and as an aircraft of vertical take-off. A winged surface effect aircraft is provided with a magnetic suspension system having electromagnets adapted for magnetic interaction with a composite run-way utilizing an eddy current to support the rear portion of winged surface effect aircraft laterally in relation to the run-way while the front portion is supported by and rides on an air cushion developed by forward thrust between the wing and ground. The propelling units of the surface effect aircraft are adapted to hover the front portion and to propel the aircraft along the run-way while the rear portion of aircraft is magnetically supported by the magnetic suspension system. The winged surface effect aircraft can be adapted to be propelled over the ground surface as a conventional type aircraft when the electromagnets are disengaged.

  • Patent number: 5175998
Abstract: An exhaust system for use with automobile engines and industrial plants for filtering exhaust emissions. An exhaust system comprises the exhaust pipe from the combustion chambers, the dehydrating filters and the cleaning device for the removal of detrimental matter from exhaust gases to protect the environment against pollution. The cleaning device includes the container with an inlet, an outlet and a vertical partition to separate the container into two chambers which contain the water solution of chemical substances to remove the detrimental matter from the exhaust gases. The cleaning device also includes the dehydrating filters. The exhaust gases passing through the water solution and dehydrating filters are caused to give up and deposit the hydrocarbons, the particulate material and to dissolve the pollutant gases, for example, the carbon dioxide and to form the carbonic acid.

  • Patent number: 5146203
Abstract: An automobile for racing comprises a body, an engine, wheels, a fuel system, an exhaust system and wings having an adjustable angle of attack arranged so as to provide an upwardly directed force in the rear part of the automobile for racing and to create a turning moment relative to the front wheel axle in order to increase the maximum speed during racing by reducing friction of the automobile. Wings are arranged so as to create a turning moment relative to the front wheel axle and to lift the automobile or to provide aerodynamic braking by a remote control system. The wings are adapted to provide maneuvering of the automobile by aerodynamic braking separately of each wing. A fuel system of the automobile comprises a device for energizing the air-fuel mixture adapted to reduce the consumption of fuel. The automobile for racing comprises a tire inflation detection system adapted to inform an occupant of the automobile when the inflation pressure of any tire is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5088568
Abstract: A hydro-mechanical device for underground drilling for use with a drilling rig comprises a container having a combustion chamber, an ignition system, inlets for introducing a fuel, an oxidizer, a liquid into the combustion chamber, a nozzle for discharging combustion products, a piston slidably mounted in the container and a reamer connected to the piston. The ignition system provides electro-discharges in the fuel, oxidizer, liquid mixture. Each electro-discharge has an explosive nature and produces combustion products having a high pressure. Combustion products are ejected through the circular nozzle surrounding the container to provide a thermal drilling action. The movable piston is pushed downwardly by the products of electro-discharge and causes the reamer to penetrate rocks or a frozen ground to provide a percussion drilling action. By the use of combined effect of thermo-percussion drilling, holes of significant depth can be drilled and rocks or frozen ground of high hardness can be pierced.
