Abstract: A seal assembly for sealing between a pair of bearing rings wherein one of the rings has an annular groove for the seal comprising elastic annular ring member having at least one circumferential projection and at least one sealing disk and a retainer member. The volume of the elastic ring, which has been increased by the retaining sections for the parts to be held in place being in the preinstalled state at least the same as that of annular groove in one of the bearing rings.

Abstract: A pivot mounting assembly for movably mounting a steering column of a vehicle in a housing or the like comprising a rolling bearing including an outer ring and a plurality of rolling elements disposed between the steering column and a housing for pivotally mounting the outer ring in the housing including an intermediate mounting member disposed between the outer ring and housing and adopted for positive form locking connection with the housing in an axial direction and including a pair of cooperating retaining ring members having cooperable axially oriented projectors and recesses which are interengageable in a friction locking manner.

Abstract: A method for making ball and socket joints with a slip liner of a friction reducing material consisting of the steps of inserting and centering a ring tool in the bore of the outer ring, filling the space between the outer ring and the ring tool with a friction reducing material; separating the ends of the outer ring and simultaneously breaking the slip liner at a predetermined point, removing the ring tool, and inserting the inner ring of the ball and socket joint.

Abstract: A sliding bearing for transmitting radial and axial forces, having an inner and an outer bushing, one of the bushings being provided on both faces thereof with flanges projecting radially against the other bushing, which flanges at least partially embrace the faces of the other bushing thus fixing the other bushing therebetween, and a sliding annular insert having a U-shaped cross-section of antifriction material arranged between said bushings, and having annular projections extending axially outward to embrace the flanges on the associated bushing.
