  • Publication number: 20160057981
Abstract: Fishermen lose their fishing gear when they hook onto an obstruction. This invention minimizes the loss of the gear. The hook is the last element on most fishing lines. Having it fail first can save the rest of the gear. This invention selectively reduces the cross section of the shaft or the eyelet of the hook or the split ring connecting device. Using the strength of the materials, appropriate yield strengths can be calculated for either tensile or shear breakage. Reducing the overall cross section of the fish hook will cause the hook to straighten out when a fish strikes the hook. Reducing selectively the cross section of the shaft or the eyelet or the split ring maintains the strength of the hooking area while providing a lower breakage point for the overall hook.

  • Patent number: 5219309
Abstract: A bouncer ring amusement toy is disclosed in the form of an air-inflatable annular ring. The ring is designed to extend around the torso of a person to form a bouncing cushion, allowing the person to engage in bouncing amusement activities. The dimensions of the ring, including the size of the central opening, the diameter of the outer perimeter, and the thickness of the ring, relate to the size of the intended user. In other words, an adult-sized version of the ring is larger than one designed for use by a child. Handles are provided on the ring to allow the user to securely grip the ring while engaging in bouncing activities.

  • Patent number: 5020343
Abstract: A lockset for a door comprising a latchbolt assembly movable between a partially extended latching position, a fully extended deadbolt position and a retracted position. A spindle extends through the latchbolt assembly in a direction transverse of the direction of movement of the bolt. The spindle is connected to the bolt for moving the bolt between its positions upon rotation of the spindle. An operating assembly includes a hand operator having a locking member therein, a first plate mounted for linear movement in a direction transverse to the axis of the spindle and having a pair of ears vertically spaced about and generally aligned with the longitudinal axis of the spindle. A pivotally mounted actuator member is movable in response to the hand operator and has first and second surfaces vertically spaced about and generally aligned with the longitudinal axis of the spindle and in engagement with the pair of ears such that pivotal movement of the actuator produces linear movement of the first plate.

  • Patent number: 4384648
Abstract: A picture hanger locator package is provided comprising a long cardboard backing strip mounting one or more picture hangers at one end. Adhesive areas are provided on the front and back faces of the backing strip and the package assembly may include a protective covering. The hook portion of each hanger is mounted on the mounting portion of a picture frame and the front adhesive area may be pressed against the picture frame so that it is held in a proper position relative to the frame as the frame is positioned against the wall. The elongated backing sheet projects above the picture frame and, after proper positioning of the picture in its desired location, the back adhesive area is pressed into firm engagement with the wall so that the hanger is adhered to the wall at its proper location. The picture frame is then removed from the hook and the hanger is securely fastened to the wall in a conventional manner.

  • Patent number: 4236396
Abstract: A lockset having a rim mounted latch bolt and a dead bolt arranged in side-by-side relation on a door for engagement within side-by-side openings in a common strike. The dead bolt projects from an edge of the door and is operated from the inside by a turnpiece assembly and from the outside by a key operated lock cylinder mounted in fixed position relative to the door. Inside and outside lever handles journalled for limited angular movement on the turnpiece assembly and on the lock cylinder, respectively, operate the latch bolt from the inner and outer side of the door. The turnpiece assembly is connected to the lock cylinder and the inside lever handle is connected to the outside lever handle through a single transverse bore formed in the door. The present lockset may be installed on a door to replace a cylindrical lockset of key-in-knob type having a single latch bolt without boring an additional hole in the door.

  • Patent number: 3985008
Abstract: A cylindrical lock has a casing mounted in a transverse opening in a door and includes an outer knob spindle sleeve which extends axially outwardly from the casing. An outer rose liner received on the sleeve has spurs which engage the outer face of the door to secure it against rotation relative to the door. A tab on the rose liner received in a groove in the sleeve prevents rotation of the sleeve and casing relative to the outer rose liner. An outer thimble threaded onto the sleeve retains the outer rose liner and an outer rose, which covers it, in assembly with the sleeve. A projection on the outer rose received in a recess in the outer rose liner prevents rotation of the rose relative to the rose liner. The thimble conceals the latter connection and has a slot in its inner end which receives a portion of the locking tab to secure the thimble against rotation relative to the rose liner and the sleeve.
