  • Patent number: 9211656
Abstract: A system and method for removing steel beads from large diameter tires by lifting a tire into a position adjacent an extraction hook and a pair of stripping dyes. The hook is positioned adjacent the tire bead and is then withdrawn through a narrow opening in the stripping dyes, which removes the bead from the tire. The machine is capable of removing both rubber-encased inner beads from the tire without repositioning the tire within the system. A plurality of lifting platforms position the tire and the stripping mechanisms with respect to one another throughout the extraction process.

  • Patent number: 9144916
Abstract: A system and method for removes steel beads from large diameter tires by making a series of overlapping punched cuts in a circumferential pattern in the sidewall of the tire around the beads. The punching mechanism is hydraulically operated and remains stationary while a powered roller advances the tire after each successive punching motion until the beads have completely severed from both sidewalls of the OTR tire. The machine is capable of either simultaneously or individually removing both rubber-encased inner beads from the tire.

  • Patent number: 8991290
Abstract: A shearing apparatus may comprise a frame and a shearing assembly configured to shear a portion of a tire along a shear plane, the shearing assembly including a lower shear blade structure and an upper shear blade structure mounted on the frame. The apparatus may also comprise a tire indexing structure configured to advance a portion of the tire a distance through the shear plane for shearing the portion of the tire from a remainder of the tire. The tire indexing structure may include a tire clamping assembly to clamp onto the tire and movable between an initial and a final position to move the tire through the shear plane, a carriage assembly to move the tire clamping assembly between the initial and final positions, and a guide defining a path along which the carriage and tire clamping assemblies are movable between the positions.

  • Publication number: 20140138108
Abstract: A scraper attachment for mobile vehicles is provided with a resiliently deformable blade. In one embodiment, the blade is formed from a portion of a vehicle tire. A mounting bracket allows the scraper attachment to be used on a wide range of bucket-style loaders. In various embodiments, a user engages and disengages a portion of a bucket, extending forwardly from the mobile vehicle, with open mounting jaws that extend rearwardly from the mounting bracket by moving the bucket loader forward and backward with respect to the scraper attachment. An optional securement leash may couple the mounting frame with the mobile vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7975579
Abstract: A system and method are provided for cutting scrap tires along a cut line that is generally parallel with sidewalls of the scrap tires. A base frame supports a cutting blade that is positioned to cut through the tread of a scrap tire lying on its sidewall. A blade engagement arm may be provided to at least partially receive the cutting blade from a back side of the tread portion. A motive system is provided for incrementally moving the cutting apparatus about a circumferential portion of the scrap tire as it is being cut.

  • Patent number: 7007634
Abstract: An automated watering trough is provided with a fluid supply line that automatically fills the trough to a desired volume through the use of a valve and actuator. A protective housing may be provided to substantially encase the valve and actuator, along with an optional overflow conduit, to reduce the incidence of contact between livestock and the automation components. The shell of the trough may be comprised of a recycled tire provided with a base plug, which may support the protective tower and automation components.

  • Patent number: 6131637
Abstract: A power tool for removing a tire from a rim for purposes of disposition of the tire. Because preservation of the wheel is not an object, the tool uses the force of rams first to grasp the tire then to force the wheel out of the tire.
