Publication number: 20250040534Abstract: A mechanical device is presented to mechanically remove weeds in a lawn instead of chemical herbicides. The inventive device utilizes a motor driven horizontal spindle with a large number of closely spaced strings of equal length are attached turning at high speed which do the cutting. The vertically rotating strings selectively defoliates any vegetation that has lateral shoots or broad leaves. Turf grasses have narrow leaves and minimal lateral growth and so allow the rotating strings to pass through with little resistance like a comb going through hair and causes much less damage to the grass leaves. The horizontal spindle can be as long as desired covering a wide path through the lawn as long as the motor has enough power to handle the workload.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 2, 2023Publication date: February 6, 2025Inventor: Edward Leslie Jones

Patent number: 11791600Abstract: A cable assembly includes coaxially arranged inner and outer barrels. The outer barrel overlaps a portion of the inner barrel. The inner and outer barrels respectively include first and second features that cooperate with one another to form a retention feature. The cable assembly has a cable that has at least one wire surrounded by an inner insulator that is covered in a metallic shield. The metallic shield is arranged in between the inner and outer barrels. The first feature is arranged beneath the metallic shield, and the second feature is arranged over the metallic shield. At least one of the first and second features extends in a radial direction relative to the other of the first and second features to capture the metallic shield with the retention feature.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2021Date of Patent: October 17, 2023Assignee: APTIV TECHNOLOGIES LIMITEDInventors: James P. Publication number: 20220175063Abstract: A mask insert and mask system for improving breathing during exertion are disclosed. A mask adjunct device allows for better ventilatory airflow to a masked user especially when moisture causes the mask to collapse against the face reducing airflow. The mask adjunct device is insertable under a face mask to provide a rigid structure defining non-collapsible space between the face and the outer mask. The mask adjunct device comprises a sidewall component comprising openings for air flow and a face engaging component for engaging the user's face. An outer wall component rigidly connects the sidewall component opposite the face engaging component to create the non-collapsible space. The system further comprises an outer face mask for positioning over the mask adjunct device.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 3, 2021Publication date: June 9, 2022Inventor: Leslie Jones

Patent number: 5113375Abstract: A LCD display is driven by certain elements to indicate the responses of a geophone to various tests as a waveform. Waveforms are displayed for an impulse tests, wherein a current pulse is applied to the geophone and the response is displayed, and for a tap test, wherein the top of a geophone is tapped and the first break of the resulting displayed waveform indicates the polarity of the geophone connections. Response to a resistance test is provided by a level indicator. The waveform on the display may be examined with reference to a comparitor indicative of a proper response, and the operational or disfunctional condition of the geophone thereby determined.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 1990Date of Patent: May 12, 1992Assignee: Chevron Research CompanyInventor: Leslie Jones, Jr.
