Publication number: 20160040360Abstract: A process for treating a cellulosic material comprising pretreating the cellulosic material and then extracting the cellulosic material with an extractant to selectively extract hemicellulose therefrom and separating the extracted hemicellulose to form a cellulosic product comprising less hemicellulose than the cellulosic material. The extractant comprises a cellulose solvent and a co-solvent. The cellulosic product advantageously retains its cellulosic fiber morphology. The processes involve separating and recovering the hemicellulose and separating and recycling various process streams employed in the process.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 3, 2015Publication date: February 11, 2016Inventors: Bin Li, Leslie Allen, Dinesh Arora, Prabuddha Bansal, Monica Boatwright, Christopher M. Publication number: 20150258844Abstract: To mount the antlers or horns of an animal that have been harvested from an animal such as a deer or elk, a portion of the bark is removed from a section of tree trunk. The portion of bark that is removed is shaped to receive a filler in the shape of the head of the animal from which the antlers or horns have been harvested. The removed portion forms a cut out or recess through the bark into which the antlers or horns are secured and into which the filler is positioned. The filler is three dimensional and shaped much like the shape of the head of the animal from which the antlers or horn have been harvested. The filler is then covered with the cut out material which is the bark of the tree trunk to create a head like structure covered with bark with the antlers extending from their approximately natural location.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 9, 2015Publication date: September 17, 2015Inventor: LESLIE ALLEN BYRNS

Patent number: 9042063Abstract: A switching arrangement is disclosed comprising: a control circuit; a latching relay controlled by the control circuit for connecting an AC source to an AC load; and a relief circuit in parallel with the relay and controlled by the control circuit. The relief circuit has two modes of operation: an inactive mode in which the relief circuit is non-conductive and an active mode in which the relief circuit is at least partially conductive. The relief circuit is partially conductive when spending both a time period in a conductive state and a time period in a non-conductive state during a half-cycle of the AC. The control circuit is configured to switch the relief circuit from inactive mode to active mode, and upon switching to active mode, to set the relief circuit as partially conductive for at least two half-cycles, wherein the proportion of time the relief circuit is conductive compared to non-conductive is increased for successive ones of the at least two half-cycles.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2010Date of Patent: May 26, 2015Assignees: Tyco Electronics UK Ltd., Raychem International (Irish Branch)Inventors: Brendan Normoyle, Philip Foxley, Melvyn McGann, Leslie Allen
