In response, the emergency alert system may determine personalized emergency response instructions for an occupant of the building based on the location and type of emergency. Some aspects relate to performing emergency response drills and monitoring performance of occupants participating in drills.

Abstract: The current document is directed to flow-presentation methods, and systems that incorporate these methods that address needs of many elderly users for a simpler, more intuitive computer-system interface that continuously presents user-interface features to users that allow users to access and use programs, rather than waiting for a user to actively search for, and select, program entries. The currently described flow-presentation methods are incorporated into computer systems to create platforms that provide a continuous flow of news, entertainment, weather, scheduled events, and other information, referred to as “content,” to a user's computer, such as a mobile computing device, including cell phones, tablets, and laptops, a desktop computer, or an interactive television. The flow of content may, in certain implementations, continuously repeat as a sequence or presented information, like a carousel.

Abstract: A method and computer network for managing an intentional community, such as a continuing care residential retirement community. Such a community includes members who have rights to use physical resources such as facilities and services that are managed by a management entity of the intentional community. The members are able to interact with management and outside vendors with a graphical user interface that represents the community, and perhaps vendor sites.

Abstract: A situation-based monitoring system monitors various activities of persons in rooms of a home or residential care facility, determines when the person is in distress and communicates that fact to appropriate personnel. The system includes a programmable processor connected with sensors in the monitored area. The sensors detect various physical parameters associated with the monitored persons, such as motion or the identity of the persons themselves. From the sensed conditions, the processor determines when a distress situation or condition exists (e.g., a person has fallen) and communicates information about the distress condition to a notification device. Various situations may be configured differently for different people. The communication can either be an alarm indicating a condition requiring immediate attention, or may be information-only.
