    Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for achieving improved efficiency and economy in the transfer of information signals from a first to a second recording medium utilizing an optical storage medium as an intermediate transfer medium. Information signals from a first recording medium are reproduced and recorded onto a second recording medium at speeds in the range of 2 to 200 times normal speed.
