    Abstract: A cervical plate having a plurality of boreholes and one or more openings for aligning or positioning the boreholes on a vertebra. Vertices, axes and sides of the openings may be used to align the cervical plate with the midline of vertebrae and may be used to position the boreholes to ensure bone fasteners advanced through the boreholes engage cortical regions of the vertebrae. Rings positioned in the boreholes may inhibit withdrawal of the bone fasteners from the cervical plate or vertebrae after installation.
