  • Publication number: 20120300471
Abstract: Certain embodiments may include system apparatus for providing optical film lens assemblies, light fixtures, and film tensioning frame. According to an example embodiment, a lens assembly is configured for modifying light from a light source associated with a light fixture enclosure, wherein the lens assembly is characterized by one or more optical films that are characterized by at least one or more lenticular surfaces. The lens assembly is further characterized by a curved plane. According to an example embodiment, a film-tensioning frame is characterized by a frame with four corners, wherein one or more film sheets are attached to the top or bottom of the frame at least at the four corners of the frame, and wherein the one or more film sheets are tensioned on the frame by elastic potential energy imparted into the frame before attachment of the one or more film sheets.

  • Patent number: 7225645
Abstract: A method of planning and fabricating a single crocheted work-piece that incorporates a meandering pattern. A special grid is constructed, the pattern placed in the grid, and the stitch combinations noted on the pattern line forming a “map”. This map of the work-piece is carefully followed in the fabrication of the first round. The work-piece is fabricated by making a central piece that is the first round containing the complete meandering pattern line. The first round is constructed in two steps, a row 1A and a row 1B. Row 1A is not visible when the first round has been completed. Thereafter, encircling additional rounds are added until the work-piece has reached the desired size. Inside seams are connected to complete the work-piece. Alternating colors are used to emphasize the meandering pattern. New stitch combinations, specifically a three-way intersection and a four-way intersection, as well as inside and outside corners make the meandering pattern possible.

  • Patent number: 7065987
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an afghan incorporating personalized or commemorative indicia and a method for constructing the afghan. The individual pieces of the afghan incorporate the characters and symbols of the indicia at the point of fabrication so that the afghan is complete when the pieces are joined together. The method involves determining the event to be commemorated, choosing the specific indicia to be incorporated into the afghan and anticipating the use for the completed afghan. The size of the afghan and of the individual pieces are determined as well as the number of pieces to be fabricated. A grid is constructed representing the number and arrangement of the pieces so that the characters and symbols making up the indicia may be suitably positioned within the grid and within the completed afghan to provide the most esthetic result. The craft method is then chosen as well as the type and colors of the yarn and the implement or implements needed in the fabrication.

  • Patent number: 3985509
Abstract: A flame ionization detector including means for monitoring the flame condition, so as to enable ignition of an extinguished flame. An igniter coil is mounted proximate the burner nozzle of the FID, and thermocouple means are provided including a hot junction in thermal contact with the nozzle, and a spaced cold junction. Means are provided for applying an electrical potential to the igniter coil to enable ignition of the flame upon a flame-out condition being detected as measured by the thermocouple output. In a preferable embodiment, the ends of the igniter coil are connected to a pair of electrical leads, with the connection zones defining the hot and cold junctions of the thermocouple. This permits the same lead pair to provide both the potential enabling the igniter function of the coil, and the interconnection for the thermocouple output signal. The same lead pair may also be utilized to provide the biasing potential to the burner nozzle.
