  • Publication number: 20160050546
Abstract: A subscriber unit includes a receiver configured to monitor at least one channel for a first identifier and a second identifier. The first identifier is associated with a unicast transmission and the second identifier is associated with a multicast transmission. The subscriber unit includes a transmitter configured, in response to receiving a first message including the first identifier over the monitored at least one channel, to utilize an assignment of resources within the first message for the unicast transmission. The subscriber unit further includes a processor configured, in response to receiving a second message including the second identifier over the monitored at least one channel, to process information within the second message associated with the multicast transmission.

  • Patent number: 8301137
Abstract: A technique for transmitting messages in a wireless communication network to a multicast group using a single wireless channel. A base station processor having a plurality of wireless channels is in communication with a plurality of subscriber access units in a wireless communication network. Multicast messages received by the base station processor are sent to a plurality of the subscriber access units, denoted as a multicast group, in the wireless communication network via a wireless channel dedicated to transmitting multicast messages.

  • Patent number: 7640362
Abstract: Compression efficiency is optimized by filtering protocol-specific header and control information of a protocol data unit (PDU) to determine compressibility of the contents of the protocol data unit. Based on the result of the filtering, the state of data link compression is selected for the protocol data unit in a manner optimizing compression efficiency. A filter performing the filtering may access a table having entries with specific media types deemed compression limited and associate individual PDUs to a specific media type. When associating the individual PDUs, the filter typically determines if a given PDU is associated with a previously filtered PDU and, if so, assigns the same state of data link compression for the given PDU as for the previously filtered PDU. The data link compression is disabled if the filter determines the compressibility of the contents of the PDU is determined to be low.

  • Patent number: 6144210
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detection of manufacturing defects during in-circuit testing. A preferred embodiment utilizes an onboard controllable signal source and/or an external signal source, in combination with capacitive sensors, to detect defects. In an embodiment of the present invention, prediction equations are implemented to increase both the efficiency and effectiveness of defect detection and location.
