  • Patent number: 9043851
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for measuring multicast latency are disclosed. According to one method, the method includes emulating one or more Internet protocol television (IPTV) user devices by generating channel leave and join requests. The method further includes monitoring network responses to the channel leave and join requests and calculating, during a cycle of channel leave and join requests for a user device and prior to repeating the cycle, at least one metric of latency associated with the channel leave and join requests.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 31, 2011
Date of Patent: May 26, 2015
    Assignee: Ixia

  • Publication number: 20110042033
Abstract: Apparatus (300, 400) for laying an elongate member such as a pipe (306) or a rail (472). Material carried by the apparatus is smelted in a furnace (340) and fed to a casting head (342) by which the elongate member is continuously cast. The so cast elongate member is then laid by the apparatus, as it travels on the ground surface.

  • Publication number: 20050046440
Abstract: A vital power supply system that utilizes a two out of three determination scheme to control the tolerance of the output voltage and also to shut down the output voltage. The power supply system includes monitoring circuits that determine over-voltage and under-voltage conditions and when a redundant supply is switched-in in the event the main power supply fails. One of the monitoring circuits includes switches that shut down the supplied power when at least two out of three processing units determine that such action is needed. Another monitoring circuit includes different switches that are selectively enabled to control a level of a reference voltage which indicates the voltage level being supplied by the supply. By changing the reference voltage up or down the tolerance for voltage monitor is controlled. Preferably, the system complies with CENELEC standards.

  • Patent number: 6510857
Abstract: A conventional apparatus for preventing growth of microbia in a carrier tube by an electromagnetic field has no or little effect. An apparatus 1 serves to prevent growth of microbia propagating themselves on an internal wall of a carrier tube 63 for carrying beer and the like or to remove the microbia. The apparatus 1 comprises a control unit 2 for generating an electric signal including an audio frequency component, a transponder 3 including a coil 31 and a case 32 for housing the coil 31, and means for attaching the transponder 3 to an external wall of the carrier tube 63, and generates an audio electronic signal to be sent through the carrier tube 63 by applying the electric signal to the coil 31.

  • Patent number: 5645697
Abstract: Apparatus for preventing contaminant build-up in beer supply lines including a coil supported on a former located coaxially about the beer line. A signal generator is connected to the coil to apply a signal of varying frequency to the coil to prevent bacterial growth on the inside of the line.

  • Patent number: 3951220
Abstract: A drill bit for use in concentrically arranged dual drill strings. The bit has an outlet eccentrically arranged respective to its longitudinal axial centerline, and a formation engaging surface made of a plurality of spiraling faces which diminish in area as the cutting face curves about and toward the outlet. The area located between the spiraling faces form fluid conveying passageways through which a jet of fluid is directed toward the outlet, thereby carrying therewith cuttings formed by the spiral faces of the bit.
