A web displayable file, e.g., hypertext mark up language (HTML), is generated and updated to reflect current configuration data for a storage subsystem configuration. The web page, when displayed, includes a generation snapshot that is compared against a current generation indicator that is associated with a current HTML file. If they match, the displayed web page is current; otherwise, an updated HTML file is downloaded and displayed.
