  • Patent number: 10713266
Abstract: An approach is described of query processing via a lambda application including a batch processing layer and a speed processing layer. The approach may improve speed and efficiency with respect to computation of query results associated with the batch processing layer. A method pertaining to such approach may include receiving a query including an initial timeframe and computing partial query results within the initial timeframe. The partial query results within the initial timeframe may include a result for data associated with the speed processing layer and results for a first set of data segments associated with the batch processing layer. The method further may include combining the partial query results within the initial timeframe into a final query result. The method further may include computing partial query results outside of the initial timeframe including results for a second set of data segments associated with the batch processing layer.

  • Patent number: 9361293
Abstract: Mechanisms are provided for generating a lexical resource for linguistic analysis. A document data structure is received that comprises a renaming directive and filter logic is applied to the document data structure to identify the renaming directive within the document data structure. The renaming directive is analyzed to identify a relationship between semantic concepts represented by the renaming directive that are to be used to update a lexical resource based on the renaming directive. The lexical resource is updated based on results of analyzing the renaming directive. The updated lexical resource is output to a linguistic analysis system which performs linguistic analysis of a portion of textual content based on the updated lexical resource.

  • Publication number: 20140358616
Abstract: Asset management for a computer-based system includes detecting, using a processor, a change to at least one of a plurality of assets of the computer-based system, wherein the plurality of assets are managed using version control, and determining a weight for each changed asset. Using the processor, an aggregate weight is calculated according to the weight of each changed asset and the aggregate weight is compared with a threshold weight. Responsive to determining that the aggregate weight exceeds the threshold weight, a state of the plurality of assets of the computer-based system is recorded.

  • Publication number: 20140208201
Abstract: A mechanism is provided in a data processing system for presenting obfuscated content in a Web document. The mechanism divides source content into a plurality of rectangular portions and re-arranges the rectangular portions to form obfuscated content. The mechanism generates a Web content fragment that defines the plurality of rectangular portions of the obfuscated content as a plurality of group block elements. The mechanism generates style sheet code that defines the positional layout of the plurality of group block elements. The mechanism generates a Web document comprising the Web content fragment and the style sheet code and referencing the obfuscated content.

  • Patent number: 8442979
Abstract: Creating, i.e. rendering, markup language documents having multiple content portions, respectively, from multiple sources. A set of displayable non-alphanumeric visual indicators, e.g. colors, is associated with each content portion, each indicator respectively representing the status of one of said set of content reviews. Then an implementation is provided enabling a user at the receiving display station to sequentially and collectively proceed through said sets of content reviews to which the content portions in the multiple content displayed may have been subjected, and displaying at each content review step only the indicators representing the status of said content review for all of the content portions subjected to said content review step.

  • Patent number: 7865516
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product are provided for identifying data objects related to temporal characteristics. A first data object that has been previously stored is identified. The first data object has one or more associated temporal characteristics. At least one associated temporal characteristic is extracted from the first data object, thus, forming at least one extracted temporal characteristic. The at least one associated temporal characteristic is extracted in order to perform a search for at least one second data object. A search is performed for at least one second data object based on the at least one extracted temporal characteristic. The results of the search are presented in a graphical user interface.

  • Patent number: 7735069
Abstract: Provided is a method for defining and organizing computer breakpoints for use during a debugging operation of a software application. The claimed subject matter provides flexible breakpoints that are called depending upon the condition of the corresponding call-stack or, in other words, depending upon a specific calling sequence through which the module containing the breakpoint was reached. A novel type of breakpoint is provided that, rather than causing a halt in execution of a module, changes the state of one or more other breakpoints. In an alternative embodiment, a breakpoint is provided that determines whether or not to execute based upon an examination of the call-stack.

  • Publication number: 20090150158
Abstract: A portable picting device automatically converts an audio signal from a microphone into a digital data stream, parses a series of words from the digital data stream, and detects any words that match tags in a tag/image database. An image corresponding to the matching tag(s) is then retrieved and transmitted to a display. The images may be stored on a remote network, such as the Internet. In the illustrative embodiment the display is integrated into an article of clothing such as a shirt.

  • Patent number: 7475391
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for creating a software product in an Integrated Development Environment (IDE). In one embodiment, remote object status data is received by a software development module which may be a source code editor or a program execution emulator. Responsive to the received data, the remote object status is rendered within a display medium of the software development module by decorating or otherwise distinguishing the remote OIDs in the IDE. In one embodiment in which the software development module is a source code editor, the method further includes detecting a remote object identifier in a source code file processed by the source code editor, and in response thereto, displaying the remote object status within the source code editor.

  • Publication number: 20070282902
Abstract: Enabling a user to selectively branch, at a selected MP3 file departure node in a playlist sequence being played, to sequentially playing a second playlist of stored MP3 files arranged according to an attribute different from the attribute that determined the original playlist and storing the departure node. In response to the user selection of such a branch, there is accessed from a source in a communications network (Web), this second playlist of a sequence of stored MP3 files arranged according to the second attribute and the user is enabled to return to the departure node to continue the playing of the first playlist from the departure node. The source of the files in this second playlist may be a provider of such files and/or playlists for purchase.
