Abstract: Implementations of a covered opening fastener are provided. In some implementations, the covered opening fastener comprises a shelf and a shaft or one or more spikes. In some implementations, a method for using the covered opening fastener comprises attaching the covered opening fastener to an edge portion of a first object, such as a first roofing part, and driving the covered opening fastener into and/or through a second object, such as a second roofing part, to thereby attach the first object and the second object together by the covered opening fastener without forming an opening through the first object.
