  • Patent number: 9722358
Abstract: A Power Cord Retainer is disclosed for retaining a power cord in an electrical receptacle even when the cord is subjected to an extraction force. The retainer comprises a substantially flat rear panel having a left side, right side and top side that define a u-shaped interior midsection. Opposing side panels extend forward of the rear panel and include an outwardly extending clip having a hooked end adaptable for engagement and securement of a power cord plug in a receptacle. The u-shaped interior midsection is adaptable for engagement between an electrical enclosure exterior panel and a receptacle lip extension.

  • Patent number: 8466381
Abstract: A push button switch includes a hollowed housing, an electric switching circuit coupled to the hollowed housing and a stack of non-conductive sliders disposed within a narrow recess in the housing. An array of externally accessible push rods extends vertically through the housing and is used to longitudinally displace certain sliders into selective engagement with movable contacts in the electric switching circuit. A plurality of outwardly protruding projections are formed on at least one of the front and rear surfaces of alternating sliders, each projection being generally circular in transverse in cross-section and in the range of approximately 0.001 inches to 0.004 inches in height. The entire surface contact established between adjacent sliders is achieved through the one or more projections, thereby reducing the frictional forces experienced within the stack during slider displacement.

  • Patent number: 6737597
Abstract: A sump pump switch for controlling the application of power from a power source to a sump pump motor in response to the rise and fall of a liquid collecting in a sump includes a housing, a pair of electrically conductive terminal members fixedly disposed within the housing and a pair of electrically conductive contact members fixedly disposed within the housing. A pair of electrically conductive movable contacts are mounted onto a contact bridge. The contact bridge is pivotally disposed within the housing and is actuated by an over-center mechanism. The movable contacts are pivotally coupled to the terminal members and selectively contact the contact members to effectively close the switch. A pair of electrically conductive wiper contacts connect the terminal members with the contact members and provide a non-articulating current path between the terminal members and the contact members.

  • Patent number: 5967304
Abstract: A rotary electric switch having push-in wire terminals includes a hollow plastic housing having a recessed base and a cover member. The cover member comprises a top surface, a bottom surface and an annular boss which is shaped to define a central bore. A plurality of resilient stationary contacts are positioned in the base. A switch handle is rotably mounted on the base between the plurality of resilient stationary contacts. The switch handle comprises a disc-shaped rotor having a top surface and a bottom surface. The switch handle further comprises an elongated shaft and an arcuate rotor stop which are formed on its top surface, the elongated shaft protruding through the central bore in the cover member and the arcuate rotor stop being disposed within a rotor recess formed in the bottom surface of the cover member. A rotatable contactor is mounted on the bottom surface of the rotor of the switch handle and serves to selectively contact the stationary contacts.
