Patent number: 5085347Abstract: A container for fluent material having a nozzle for dispensing the material with the nozzle being moved into dispensing position and also being actuated by a slidably mounted container cover. The container may be, for instance, a pressurized container for dispensing an aerosol product or a pump container equipped with, for example, a ball check valve for dispensing a fluent mass material.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 1991Date of Patent: February 4, 1992Assignee: Anchor Hocking CorporationInventors: Thomas H. Hayes, Lewis C. LoMaglio

Patent number: 5040691Abstract: Disclosed is a package having a closure which provides child resistance with optional easy opening and closing features. The closure is permanently but rotatably attached to the container finish, and is held on the container by snap engagement with the container or with an adapter which is separately attached to the container. The closure has a depending skirt which encircles a latching flange on the container or on the adaptor. A hinged lid on the closure has a latch which is latchable beneath the latching flange only if the closure is turned to a position such that the latch is aligned with a latch slot in the latching flange. Rotation of the closure relative to the slot, once the latch has been engaged through the slot, locks the lid against opening.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 1989Date of Patent: August 20, 1991Assignee: Anchor Hocking Packaging CompanyInventors: Thomas H. Hayes, Lewis C. LoMaglio

Patent number: 4949403Abstract: A packaged dispenser for discharging metered amounts of liquid into a flush tank controlled by the rise and fall of the tank liquid. A container has a screw cap which has internal cooperable screw threads and also has cap positioning means for controlling the position of the unthreaded cap.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 1988Date of Patent: August 21, 1990Assignee: Anchor Hocking CorporationInventor: Lewis C. Patent number: 4356053Abstract: The edge of an interior lamina or laminae of a laminated sheet or film having three or more laminae is positively encapsulated to protect material enclosed by the laminated sheet or film from contacting and interacting with the edge of the interior lamina or laminae. To encapsulate the interior lamina or laminae, the edge of the laminated sheet or film is heated and the molten outer laminae are mechanically forced out and over the interior lamina or laminae to be covered, thereby positively encapsulating the edge of the interior lamina or laminae.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 1981Date of Patent: October 26, 1982Assignee: Ethyl CorporationInventor: Lewis C. LoMaglio
-
Patent number: 4330351Abstract: A collapsible dispensing tube is manufactured continuously from a flat sheet or web which is formed into a cylinder having an overlapped seam which is fused together by heat. A single pressure pad containing an induction heating element applies pressure at the seam area while the seam area is heated. The pressure pad containing the source of induction heat is removed, the cylinder is advanced incrementally, and the cycle is repeated.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 1981Date of Patent: May 18, 1982Assignee: Ethyl CorporationInventor: Lewis C. LoMaglio

Patent number: 4199083Abstract: A manually actuated trigger pump is adapted to be fitted on the neck of a container for dispensing a liquid therefrom. The pump includes a main housing with a trigger connected thereto, a flexible bladder which fits in the housing and is engagable by the trigger, and a nozzle which is attached to the housing. The trigger engages the bladder to pump fluid from the bladder outwardly through the nozzle.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 1978Date of Patent: April 22, 1980Assignee: Ethyl CorporationInventor: Lewis C.
