  • Patent number: 4471274
Abstract: A passenger vehicle door obstruction sensing control apparatus includes a first time period that begins when a door close command signal is received and the vehicle doors start to close. This first time period permits the door drive motor to reach a steady-state speed of operation. Then a motor speed responsive signal is provided to a speed reduction sensing apparatus for opening the doors for a second time period whenever the motor speed reduces below a predetermined limit.

  • Patent number: 4380802
Abstract: A net calorie calculating apparatus is provided for calculating the calories burned by a person, the calories consumed by the person and the difference therebetween. The apparatus includes a calculator for performing mathematical calculations, the calculator including a keyboard and a display. A first memory is coupled to the calculator and stores rate data representing the rate of calories burned for different predetermined human activities. A second memory is coupled to the calculator and stores calorie content data representing the number of calories per unit of various predetermined kinds of food. A program memory stores programs for controlling the calculator for the calculation of calorie burn rate, total calories burned and net calories, and an interface couples the program memory to the calculator. A control means controls the operation of the program memory to inititate various calculations in the calculator.

  • Patent number: 4212079
Abstract: A calorie monitoring device is provided for providing a visual output which compares the number of calories burned by an individual versus the calorie intake for the individual. The device has a keyboard which functions as a first input to input the calorie intake of the individual. The calorie intake input is applied to a first calculator through an interface and the calculator adds the calorie intake input to the total calorie intake in storage and displays the new total calorie intake. The keyboard also functions as a second input to receive a value indicative of the calories burned per unit of time for the individual under normal conditions. This value is applied to a second calculator through the interface circuit. The second calculator calculates and displays the total number of calories burned during a total time period which extends over a plurality of the predetermined time periods.
