  • Patent number: 5409356
Abstract: Fluid wells, particularly oil wells, exert heavy shock loads on the string of sucker rods extending down to the fluid pump located adjacent to the producing formation. A conventional rocker arm must lift the sucker rods the column of oil in the casing plus the weight of the fluid pump, overcome the inertial load and then come to a stop before reversing the stroke. The employment of linear induction motors to reciprocate the oil well rocker arm and then operate as a generator on the reverse stroke reduces the shock loading and the returns the generated electrical energy to the well pumping system. The instant invention greatly reduces the maintenance costs of a conventional oil well and provides greater efficiency of the well pumping system.

  • Patent number: 4970808
Abstract: The introduction of electrical pulses and sonic waves into the water habitat of fish is accomplished by suspending electrodes of different electrode potential attached to the fishing lure. The electrodes are configured to flutter when drawn through the water and the fluttering causing the electrodes to make momentary contact. The electrodes of different potential and the water as electrolyte constitute a voltaic cell which discharges an electrical current pulse when the electrodes make contact. The impact of the colliding electrodes simultaneously generates an acoustical wave into the water, it has been long known that electrical pulses and sonic waves attract fish.

  • Patent number: 4467857
Abstract: A casting apparatus wherein a weighted lever operated plunger has its operational rate regulated by a friction brake. A movable weight on the lever provides a selection of amplified operating force on the plunger. The lever is coupled with the piston of a vacuum pump having a valve to regulate the rate of application of vacuum to the molding flask. Safety linkages coupled to the lever prevent non-scheduled operation of the casting apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4335910
Abstract: A door restraining device comprising a cylindrical bar mounted horizontally across the door. The bar having rotatable sleeves positioned opposite the interface between the door and the door frame. The sleeves positionable to accommodate doors of various widths. The bar is secured by mounting brackets affixed to the door frame on each side of the door. The mounting brackets having an offset inner extremity so as to position the sleeves out of alignment with the door frame and door interface.

  • Patent number: 4323016
Abstract: A warehouse pallet for the handling and storage of goods comprises two spaced, horizontal grids made of steel tubing and separated by a pair of spaced vertical runners and a plurality of peripheral stanchions. The runners are judiciously located to provide a convenient guide for the prongs of a fork-lift. Removable lateral extensions increase the load-carrying surface of the pallet. The pallets include sockets welded to the four corners which engage four upright posts whose upper ends are stabilized by spacing connectors and which fit into the sockets of an overlapping pallet, enabling the stacking of an indefinite number of pallets to optimize space utilization.

  • Patent number: 4193200
Abstract: An engraving machine of the pantograph type wherein long life and precision is obtained in plastic or other soft materials by offsetting upper and lower sections of the pantograph arms in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the pivot bores and shafts thus reducing the effective diameter of the bores to correct the shaft to bore fit as a result of wear and manufacturing tolerances.
