  • Patent number: 5390553
Abstract: A liquid sampler bottle is provided with a removable, disposable, plastic bag liner which is sealed closed, when manufactured, and which, when placed in use, has a narrow neck section a portion of which is removed to open the plastic bag, after which the neck section is folded down around the neck of the bottle and held releasably in place while being filled with liquid. After the bag is filled it is sealed closed, and the bottle, which is made from at least two different sections which are releasably connected to each other, is dismantled by removing one section from the other in order to permit the sealed bag containing the sample to be removed from the bottle and transported to a laboratory or the like. The bottle can then be reassembled and utilized with a different bag without requiring any washing of the bottle.

  • Patent number: 5210994
Abstract: The sample collector includes a plurality of like, plastic bags each of which has an opening in one end thereof. The bags are supported over a bag divider rack having thereon a bottom wall, and a plurality of divider plates which project upwardly from said bottom wall and radially of a centerline thereof, so that each pair of adjacent bags is separated by one of said divider plates. An annular spout is removably mounted on each of said divider plates and is releasably secured in the opening in one of the bags operatively to support the opening in position to register with a liquid dispenser to receive a liquid sample therefrom. After being filled the bags are sealed and can be removed individually from the divider rack or the rack itself can be carried with the filled bags positioned thereon.

  • Patent number: 4472977
Abstract: A valve containing a central recess is rotatable in a housing 180.degree. in opposite directions to cause its recess to register selectively with identically shaped inlet and outlet ports that are formed in opposite ends, respectively, of the housing. One of a pair of circular end plates, which are secured over opposite ends, respectively, of the housing by a pair of conventional coupling members, has an axial bore that communicates at one end with the inlet port, and at its opposite end with an integral pipe that extends exteriorly of the housing, and which has an externally-threaded outer end that is adapted to be threaded into the outlet side of a conventional tee fitting, the run of which is connected in a pipe through which fluid flows under pressure. The other end plate contains a first opening connected to a drainage tube, and a second opening which is used as a vent for admitting atmospheric air to the outlet port.

  • Patent number: 4428233
Abstract: This guage is adapted to measure the depth of fluid flowing past a flume or weir in a generally horizontally disposed conduit. It comprises a transparent tube or stilling well which contains a float, and which is adjustably secured by a pair of clamps to an elongate supporting rod. The float can be clamped against movement in the well by a hose, which extends downwardly in the bore of the well, and which is sealed at its lower end. The hose is connected at its upper end to a manually-operable vacuum device which can be manipulated either to collapse or expand the hose. In use the hose is collapsed and the lower end of the supporting rod is inserted downwardly into a conduit to support the lower end of the well a predetermined distance above the bottom of the conduit, and in advance of the associated weir or flume.
