  • Publication number: 20230417000
Abstract: A safety stanchion includes a base. A post extends from the base. A belt reel has an interior for holding the belt. A belt is retractably mounted within the interior. The belt has an electroluminescent (EL) material operatively connected to a powersource. The electroluminescent (EL) material is visible to the general public, when extended form within the interior.

  • Patent number: 5913032
Abstract: A computer system having a facility for concurrently sharing objects or resources is described. The system includes a publish-and-subscribe facility or "Object Exchange," for facilitating sharing among workgroups. When a data object is "published" by a user ("publisher"), the object is sent from that user's computer to other computer users specified by the publisher. Those interested in the published data object (published pages) may elect to receive or "subscribe" to that data. From that point on, the publisher can choose to update the data, such as whenever the published version changes. The "subscribers" of the published pages automatically get updates. Subscribers of a spreadsheet notebook, for instance, would automatically receive pages as they are published. The Object Manager effects actions by posting messages or "forms" to either the local Object Exchange (assuming one is the publisher) or the Object Exchange of others (subscribers).

  • Patent number: 4537482
Abstract: A captive film loop apparatus moves film through a film gate in a manner to increase the dwell time of each film frame in the gate over that normally available with presently known captive film loop apparatus. Film loops on either side of the gate are held captive by first and second rollers which are moved in unison along a given path for a first given period during which the first roller takes up all film fed to it and the second roller releases all film taken from it. The rollers are then moved in unison along a return path to their original positions during a second given period substantially less than the first given period. Film in the film gate is stationary during the first given period and moved through the gate from one frame to the next within the second given period. The construction is such as to provide for a very smooth acceleration and deceleration of the film so that rapid projection of large film formats is possible without damaging the film perforations.

  • Patent number: 4210196
Abstract: A die casting unit employing plural die members and core members which are used in closed position for die casting shaped articles of unusual configuration and particularly articles which are comprised of two or more subcomponents arranged or joined in interconnected assembly, an example of such shaped article being the slider body and pull chain used on slide fasteners. Movement of at least the die members during the molding cycle is effected by rotation of a ring member carrying structure which cooperates with structure on the die members to slide the die members between their open and closed positions.

  • Patent number: 4135285
Abstract: A slide fastener slider is assembled from a stock of slider bodies, pull tabs and springs with apparatus which loads a body on an anvil at a loading station, moves the anvil to an assembly station and at the assembly station positions a pull tab to receive the lugs on the body therein, inserts a spring over the pull tab trunnion and between the lugs, the tip ends of the lugs thereafter being clenched to fixedly secure the spring to the body. The assembled slider is then ejected from the anvil to a collection point. In a further embodiment, the slider body instead of having lugs between which the spring is received and the tip ends of which are clenched to hold the spring, has lugs with recesses at the outer side surfaces thereof. The wing-like sides of the spring are inserted over the tip ends of such lugs with a spreading action until the spring sides snap into the recesses to secure the spring to the body.
