  • Patent number: 7230416
Abstract: An inspecting apparatus (20, 40, 50, 60) for liquid crystal displays includes a base plate (21, 41), a connecting device (200, 400) mounted on the base plate, a working table (25, 45, 55, 65) supported on the connecting device, and an electrical holding device (29) fixed to the working table. The electrical holding device can hold a mains switch (33) and an electrical connector (31) that is used to connect with leads of the LCD. Because the inspecting apparatus includes the electrical holding device for holding the electrical connector, operators can connect leads of the LCD and the electrical connector easily using a single hand. After that, operators can conveniently turn on the mains switch because the mains switch is adjacent to the electrical connector.

  • Patent number: 6749830
Abstract: The present invention relates to a new method for radiolabeling chemical compounds. The new method attains the goals of simplicity, high radiochemical yields, speed, versatility, and automation. An HPLC injection loop on an HPLC injection valve is loaded with a solution of precursor and the radiolabeling reagent is passed through the loop. The contents of the loop are then quantitatively injected onto the HPLC column for purification. Radiochemical yields are equal to or superior to conventional solution methods in all cases, even though no heat need be applied. Since no vials, transfer lines, cooling, heating, or sealing valves are required, no transfer losses occur, yields are high, and clean-up is minimal. This “loop method” is ideal for the preparation of radiolabeled compounds, in particular those prepared from [11C]-iodomethane.

  • Patent number: 5908749
Abstract: Methods and compositions are provided for high resolution HLA typing using microsatellite repeats in the HLA region of the genome. Alleles from these markers are shown to be in tight linkage disequilibrium with HLA-DQ/DR alleles. The methods can be carried out on amplified nucleic acid produced by the polymerase chain reaction using the novel primers of the present invention. The microsatellite marker characterization may be employed in the association of diseases to HLA. The typing methods may be further employed in determining the suitability of a donor for tissue transplantation, including bone marrow transplantation, and in determining an individual's susceptibility to HLA associated diseases, particularly autoimmune diseases.

  • Patent number: 5042064
Abstract: A threshold-based call control facility is provided for use in a telecommunications network switch to control the processing of calls associated with so-called high capacity (HICAP) telecommunications services. In addition, a feature is provided for dynamically changing a respective threshold value at each network switch until the number of such calls reaching a respective destination switch, and hence an associated trunk group, reaches an optimum level, in which each such change in the value of the threshold is determined as a function of traffic data accumulated by the destination switch for the associated trunk group.

  • Patent number: 4368361
Abstract: "Transhybrid" loss is maximized in a transmission network of the active canceler type employed to couple receive and transmit unidirectional transmission paths to a bidirectional transmission path including 2-wire loaded type cable by controllably adjusting impedance elements of the canceler circuit in a prescribed sequence including adjustment of a network build out capacitor to obtain amplitude nulls of signals detected on the transmit path while supplying individual ones of a plurality of test signals to the receive path. The test signals include first and second signals having a plurality of equally spaced frequency components in first and second frequency bands, respectively, and a third signal having a predetermined single frequency.

  • Patent number: 4368362
Abstract: A bidirectional transmission path is typically coupled to unidirectional receive and transmit paths to effect amplification in repeaters or the like. A determination of whether the bidirectional path includes either loaded or nonloaded type 2-wire cable is made by inserting a test signal having a predetermined frequency and a predetermined amplitude into the receive path and measuring the peak amplitude of a transmit signal developed on the transmit path. If the transmit signal peak amplitude is greater than a predetermined threshold value, the 2-wire cable is considered loaded type, and if the transmit signal peak amplitude is less than the threshold value, the 2-wire cable is considered nonloaded type.

  • Patent number: 4365119
Abstract: "Transhybrid" loss is maximized in a transmission network of the active canceler type employed to couple receive and transmit unidirectional transmission paths to a bidirectional transmission path including 2-wire nonloaded type cable by controllably adjusting impedance elements of the canceler circuit in a prescribed sequence to obtain amplitude nulls of signals detected on the transmit path while supplying individual ones of a plurality of single frequency test signals to the receive path. The adjustment sequence comprises a first procedure including a plurality of iterative adjustments of predetermined impedance elements in predetermined groups until no changes in the impedance settings occur and multiple iterative adjustment of predetermined groups until no changes in the impedance settings occur.
