    Abstract: The invention relates to a method of and an apparatus for filtering a medium. The apparatus has a filter housing and a supporting means located within the filter housing. A plurality of fiber bundles are attached to the supporting means and extend within the filter housing in direction between an inlet and an outlet. A flexible waterproof membrane is provided within the filter housing to constitute a pressure chamber. When pressurized during the filtration process, the membrane presses the plurality of fiber bundles to form a frustrum-like filter chamber. The medium becomes filtered as it passes through the frustum-like filter chamber.
