  • Publication number: 20190332782
Abstract: A technique for preventing malicious observance of private information includes presenting, via a graphical user interface, a visible input cue for user input. The visible input cues is associated with an expected input value that differs from the visible input cue. The technique further includes determining a correspondence between the visible input cue and the expected input value before the visible input cue is selected. The correspondence indicates how the visible input cues differs from the expected input value. The technique further includes generating an invisible output that indicates the correspondence between the visible input cue and the expected input value and detecting a selection of the visible input cue via the graphical user interface. The technique further includes using, as the user input, the expected input value instead of the visible input cue in response to the selection of the visible input cue.

  • Publication number: 20190334537
Abstract: An alkali-metal vapor cell atomic clock system, including a first atomic vapor cell and a second atomic vapor cell. A digital signal processor outputs a first time sequence to control a first laser signal, and the digital signal processor outputs a second time sequence to control a second laser signal. Thereby, the first atomic vapor cell and the second atomic vapor cell can alternately lock a crystal oscillator. A Dick effect is reduced by alternately locking the crystal oscillator, which enables the alkali-metal vapor cell atomic clock system to have more stable frequency output. Because the crystal oscillator has low costs, the alkali-metal vapor cell atomic clock system has advantages of low costs and high stability.

  • Publication number: 20190188067
Abstract: A cognitive conversation system that generates effective diagnostic questions is provided. The cognitive conversation system receives a set of currently known symptoms (or currently available answers to diagnostic questions) of a reported problem or fault. The system identifies (i) a set of possible root causes of the reported problem based on the currently known symptoms and (ii) probabilities for the set of possible root causes by using a bipartite graph data structure that links possible symptoms with possible root causes. Upon determining that at least one possible root cause has a probability that is higher than a threshold, the system presents an explanation or solution associated with the at least one possible root cause. Upon determining that none of the possible root causes in the set of possible root causes has a probability higher than the threshold, the system presents a question based on information entropy that is computed based on probabilities of the identified possible root causes.
