    Abstract: A method of training a machine learning algorithm comprises providing a set of input data, performing transforms on the input data to generate augmented data, to provide transformed base paths into machine learning algorithm encoders, segmenting the augmented data, calculating main base path outputs by applying a weighting to the segmented augmented data, calculating pruning masks from the input and augmented data to apply to the base paths of the machine learning algorithm encoders, the pruning masks having a binary value for each segment in the segmented augmented data, calculating sparse conditional path outputs by performing a computation on the segments of the segmented augmented data, and calculating a final output as a sum of the main base path outputs and the sparse conditional path outputs. A computer-implemented system for learning sparse features of a dataset is also disclosed.

    Abstract: A Pickering particle dry powder and a preparation method are used in food processing. The preparation method includes stirring peanut protein isolate and water as raw materials to obtain peanut protein isolate dispersion, subjecting the peanut protein isolate dispersion to ultrasonic treatment, subjecting the resultant to cross-linking reaction with transglutaminase to obtain a monolithic geld, shearing and homogenizing the monolithic gel to obtain a microgel particle dispersion, spray drying the microgel particle dispersion to obtain the Pickering particle dry powder. The Pickering particle dry powder prepared by the ultrasonic-assisted enzyme method is still in nanometer level after rehydration, which is beneficial to preparing Pickering emulsion with strong stability. The preparation method has the advantages of simple operation and low cost, which is beneficial to actual production in the food industry.

    Abstract: A smart current transformer for determining primary current or power consumption, by stepping down the primary current to a secondary current for subsequent measurement by a connected meter. The current transformer is provided with a connected non-volatile memory for storing calibration data (and optionally identification data) regarding that particular current transformer. The calibration data can include the gain error and/or phase delay for the current transformer, as determined from prior calibration testing of the current transformer. The calibration data may be communicated to or otherwise determined by the meter, and used to calibrate the measurement of the secondary current, in order to determine the primary current or power consumption. Also disclosed is a system and method utilizing such a smart current transformer.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide stray light filter structures in light detection and ranging (LiDAR) systems to attenuate stray light and reduce unwanted scattering. In some embodiments, a micro lens array is used together with a pinhole array to block stray light in the optical path just prior to the photodetector. In some embodiments, a bandpass optical filter is used in the optical path prior to the microlens array. In other embodiments, a slit filter is used further upstream in the optical path to block unwanted stray light and allow returning signal light to pass to imaging optics that provide a returning signal light image at a photodetector. In some embodiments, the imaging optics include a collimating lens and a focusing lens. In some embodiments, an optical bandpass filter is positioned on the optical path between the collimating lens and the focusing lens to reject light that is outside of a an expected wavelength range for returning signal light.

Such viruses produce proteins having ?-1,3-galactose. The presence of ?-1,3-galactose on proteins of infected cells can powerfully stimulate the immune response of the host against the viral proteins of the virus, thus enhancing the effect of the virus as a vaccine.
