In some examples, a set of multiple input values are encoded on respective optical signals carried by optical waveguides. For each of at least two subsets of one or more optical signals, a corresponding set of one or more copying modules splits the subset of one or more optical signals into two or more copies of the optical signals.

The first transmission shaft is coupled to the clamping assembly and the first elastic portion. The first elastic portion provides an elastic force for the clamping assembly such that friction between the clamping assembly and the transmission assembly generates damping.

The support member system provides a safety feature to the overhead transport system by which the overhead transport system is able to avoid damage to wafers that are contained within a wafer cassette that is unintentionally released by the overhead transport system. The support member system targets wafer cassettes that have dimensions which are different than the dimensions of wafer cassettes for which the overhead transport system was originally designed to transport.     Abstract: A dummy gate structure may be formed for a semiconductor device. The dummy gate structure may be formed from an amorphous polysilicon layer. The amorphous polysilicon layer may be deposited in a blanket deposition operation. An annealing operation is performed for the semiconductor device to remove voids, seams, and/or other defects from the amorphous polysilicon layer. The annealing operation may cause the amorphous polysilicon layer to crystallize, thereby resulting in the amorphous polysilicon layer transitioning into a crystallized polysilicon layer. A dual radio frequency (RF) source etch technique may be performed to increase the directionality of ions and radicals in a plasma that is used to etch the crystallized polysilicon layer to form the dummy gate structure. The increased directionality of the ions increases the effectiveness of the ions in etching through the different crystal grain boundaries which increases the etch rate uniformity across the crystallized polysilicon layer.

    Abstract: A titanium precursor is used to selectively form a titanium silicide (TiSix) layer in a semiconductor device. A plasma-based deposition operation is performed in which the titanium precursor is provided into an opening, and a reactant gas and a plasma are used to cause silicon to diffuse to a top surface of a transistor structure. The diffusion of silicon results in the formation of a silicon-rich surface of the transistor structure, which increases the selectivity of the titanium silicide formation relative to other materials of the semiconductor device. The titanium precursor reacts with the silicon-rich surface to form the titanium silicide layer. The selective titanium silicide layer formation results in the formation of a titanium silicon nitride (TiSixNy) on the sidewalls in the opening, which enables a conductive structure such as a metal source/drain contact to be formed in the opening without the addition of another barrier layer.
