Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for transmitting data duplication in a wireless communication system are disclosed herein. In one method for a user equipment (UE) configured with data duplication. The UE duplicates a data unit into a first data unit and a second data unit. The UE constructs a second Radio Link Control (RLC) Packet Data Unit (PDU) used for transmitting the second data unit. The second data unit is a second RLC Service Data Unit (SDU). The UE receives a control command from a network node. The control command is used to deactivate the data duplication. The UE discards the second RLC PDU if the second RLC PDU includes the second RLC SDU.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a network node. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving a resource request to allocate SPS resource from a UE, wherein the resource request indicates a first logical channel. The method also allocating the UE with a first SPS resource and a second SPS resource for the first logical channel and a second logical channel associated with the first logical channel based on the resource request.

Abstract: Facilitation reporting assistance information for sidelink service in wireless communications systems is described herein. In one example, a method for a mobile device comprises: entering, by the mobile device, a connected state; and transmitting, by the mobile device, a message to a network node after entering the connected state, wherein the message comprises a first indication for requesting a system information for sidelink and a second indication for requesting transmission resource for a sidelink service.

Abstract: A method of a UE being served by a eNB for supporting device to device (D2D) communication is disclosed. The method includes the UE receiving a message that includes information pertaining to a first resource pool provided by the eNB, wherein resources of the first resource pool are common resources shared by more than one UE using the first resource pool. The method further includes the UE being configured with a second resource pool provided by the eNB, wherein the second resource pool is different from the first resource pool. Furthermore, the method includes the UE selecting resource(s) from the second resource pool and uses the selected resource(s) for D2D transmission.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for a user equipment (UE) operating in a serving cell is disclosed. The UE, in a first RRC_CONNECTED state, transmits an interest indication for a broadcast or a multicast service to a first serving cell. The interest indication includes at least some information associated with a broadcast or a multicast service. Upon entering a second RRC_CONNECTED state from an RRC_INACTIVE state, the UE may or may not send an interest indication to a second serving cell, taking into account the differences between the first and second serving cell, whether the second serving cell requested transmission of an interest indication, or whether the content of the second interest indication would be the same as the content of the first interest indication. A network node may retain UE context and other UE-related information after the UE has left an RRC_CONNECTED state, forward the information to another network node, and/or process the information when the UE re-enters the RRC_CONNECTED state.

Abstract: Method and apparatus for a user equipment (UE) operating in a serving cell is disclosed. The serving cell does not broadcast system information for broadcast or multicast. The UE transmits an interest indication for broadcast or multicast to the serving cell. The interest indication for broadcast or multicast includes at least some information associated with a broadcast or multicast service of interest. The UE receives the system information for broadcast or multicast from the serving cell after transmitting the interest indication for broadcast or multicast.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a UE. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving a first signaling, wherein the first signaling includes an identity of a broadcast or multicast service. The method further includes receiving a second signaling, wherein the second signaling indicates an association between a numerology and an information of the broadcast or multicast service. The method also includes using the numerology to receive the broadcast or multicast service.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed from the perspective of a UE for requesting SPS resources for V2X message transmissions in a wireless communication system. The method includes generating a first V2X message for transmission. In addition, the method includes transmitting a first signal to a network node for requesting SPS resources for transmitting the first V2X message and following first V2X messages which are generated subsequent to the first V2X message, wherein the first signal includes an identity used to associate the SPS resources with the first V2X message and the following first V2X messages. Furthermore, the method includes receiving a second signal from the network node, wherein the second signal contains a first information indicating the SPS resources and the identity. The method also includes transmitting the first V2X message and the following first V2X messages according to the SPS resources indicated by the first information.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for performing a RA procedure for at least a first D2D communication session and a second D2D communication session in a wireless communication system. The method includes a UE transmitting a first message to a network, wherein the first message is a preamble. The method also includes the UE receiving a second message from the network after transmission of the first message, wherein the second message contains a first UL resource. The method further includes the UE using the first UL resource to transmit a third message to the network after reception of the second message, wherein the third message includes at least a BSR MAC CE.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for multicasting data to a group in a wireless communication system are disclosed herein. According to one exemplary method for a base station for multicasting data to a group in a wireless communication system, the base station receives one or multiple messages to indicate UE(s) in the group. The base station configures each UE in the group with same periodic downlink resource via a dedicated signaling per UE. The base station receives a packet associated with the group, and the base station multicasts the packet to the UEs in the group via the same periodic downlink resource.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for assisting data transmission in a wireless communication system. In one embodiment, the method includes a UE transmitting information to a base station, wherein the information at least indicates time to start an uplink transmission by the UE. In another embodiment, the method could include the UE receiving, from the base station, a configuration indicating a periodic uplink resource allocation. In addition, the method could include the UE performing the uplink transmission based on the periodic uplink resource allocation.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for allocating resources for D2D communication are disclosed. The method includes a WCN allocating dedicated resource for a first D2D data session and common resource for a second D2D data session in a user equipment (UE), wherein the first D2D data session and the second D2D data session are active simultaneously in the UE. The method could also include the WCN receiving a corresponding request message from the UE for establishing each D2D data session. The method could further include the WCN transmitting a response message to the UE in response to reception of the corresponding request message, wherein the response message includes resource information that indicates which type of resource is allocated for each D2D data session.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for switching communication interface in a wireless communication system. In one embodiment, the method includes a UE using a first interface to transmit data for a service. The method also includes the UE receiving an information from a base station for indicating that the first interface is not allowed to transmit data for the service. Abstract: A method and apparatus for triggering solving mismatch between sidelink BSR and available sidelink transmission in a wireless communication system are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method includes a relay UE establishing a first layer-2 link and a second layer-2 link between the relay UE and a remote UE, wherein the first layer-2 link and the second layer-2 link have two different source identities and a same destination identity. The method further includes the relay UE receiving a sidelink grant from an eNB. The method further includes the relay UE using the sidelink grant to serve the first layer-2 link and the second layer-2 link.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for a relay UE to receive packets from an eNB where the relay UE acts as a relay for forwarding the packets between a remote UE and the eNB. In one embodiment, the method includes the relay UE connecting with the eNB. The method further includes the relay UE being configured with a radio bearer between the relay UE and the eNB. The method also includes the relay UE receiving a downlink packet on the radio bearer from the eNB, wherein the downlink packet is to be transmitted to the remote UE. In addition, the method includes the relay UE not transmitting any resource request to the eNB for requesting a SL grant for transmission of a sidelink packet including the downlink packet when the sidelink packet becomes available for transmission and there is currently no data available for transmission to the remote UE. Furthermore, the method includes the relay UE receiving the SL grant from the eNB.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for triggering radio bearer release by a relay UE in a wireless communication system are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method includes the relay UE connects with an eNB. The method also includes the relay UE establishes a PDN connection for supporting traffic relaying. The method further includes the relay UE establishes a layer-2 link with a remote UE. In addition, the method includes the relay UE creates a radio bearer between the relay UE and the eNB for forwarding data packets between the remote UE and a PDN corresponding to the PDN connection. Furthermore, the method includes the relay UE sends a NAS message to the eNB if a failure of the layer-2 link is detected. And the method includes the relay UE receives a RRC message indicating release of the radio bearer in response to transmission of the NAS message from the eNB.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for supporting UE-to-Network relay based on device to device service in a wireless communication system. In one embodiment, the method includes that a first UE is configured with at least a first set of logical channel(s) and a second set of logical channel(s). The method further includes the first UE transmitting a transport block (TB) including at least a Medium Access Control (MAC) subheader, which is including at least a LCID field to set a specific value, and a MAC Service Data Unit (SDU) to a base station, wherein the MAC subheader is used to indicate a logical channel which is associated with the MAC SDU belonging to the first set of logical channel(s) or the second set of logical channel(s).

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for handling multiple D2D grants for multiple sidelinks in decreasing order of priority. In one embodiment, the method includes a first UE participates in a first sidelink and a second sidelink, wherein a priority of the first sidelink is higher than a priority of the second sidelink. The method also includes the first UE receiving a first D2D grant and a second D2D grant from a base station in a first SA period. The method further includes the first UE serving the first sidelink with the first D2D grant and afterward, the first UE cannot serve the first sidelink with another D2D grant for the same SA period as the first D2D grant. In addition, the method includes the first UE serving the second sidelink with the second D2D grant and afterward, the first UE cannot serve the second sidelink with another D2D grant for the same SA period as the second D2D grant.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for performing a RA procedure for a D2D communication. The method includes the UE transmitting a third message to a network, wherein the third message includes at least a first identification of the UE. The method also includes the UE determining that a contention resolution of the RA procedure is successful if the UE receives a fourth message addressed to a second identification of the UE from the network, wherein the first identification is different from the second identification.
