A movable point can be selected and that point on the boundary of an icon can be moved inside or away from the icon. The move operation includes a move direction and a move distance. The shape and size of the icon is adjusted according to the move direction and the move distance, and as the size of an adjusted icon is increased, additional information from the represented application program, such as a list of unopened emails in an email program, can be obtained and displayed.

Abstract: A system optimization method includes adding a first mark on an icon of an application when the application is started in response to a starting operation of a user, displaying the first mark on a display area of a display device on an electronic device, checking whether a system load of the electronic device is greater than or equal to a first predetermined value, when the system load of the electronic device is greater than or equal to the first predetermined value, replacing the first marks on the icons of all of the started applications with second marks and displaying the second marks on the display area, closing at least one of the started applications and removing the second marks on the icons of the closed applications.

Programs cause at least one processor to determine whether a touch on an original sidebar displayed on the display device is an extension operation or a rotation operation. An extended sidebar is displayed on the display device if the touch is the extension operation and at least one additional and rotated sidebar is displayed if the touch is determined to be a rotation operation. A sidebar which is extended, and each rotated sidebar, reveal additional application programs to a user.

The touch panel includes a first touch region and a second touch region. The touch controller receives the signals and determines the type of the touch intended. The microprocessor refers to the function table, and controls the LED light source to execute the control function and to give visual feedback when the touch panel is touched. A switch apparatus is also provided.

The processing unit controls the power management unit to provide power to the first indicator only when determining the first touch area is touched by the user according to the touch signals received by it, and control the power management unit to provide power to the second indicator only when determining the second touch area is touched.

Abstract: A calculation control method is used for an electronic device. The electronic device includes a storage unit storing a number of arithmetic equation models. The method includes the following steps. Sense handwritten touch input on a touch sensing unit by a user. Generate signals associated with the user's handwritten touch input. Display the handwritten content according to the generated signals. Recognize the handwritten content of the user, and convert the recognized handwritten content into an arithmetic operation if the recognized handwritten content matches one of the arithmetic equation models stored in the storage unit. Calculate a result of the arithmetic operation, if the recognized handwritten content matches one of the arithmetic equation models. And display the calculated result to the user.

Abstract: A street light includes a post, a light source mounted on the post, a communicating unit, a button unit, a camera unit, a storage unit, and a central control unit. The communicating unit communicates with a server which includes an alarm system. The button unit and the camera unit are mounted on the post. The central control unit enables the camera unit to take photo of an area adjacent to the street light in response to manual operation of the button unit. The storage unit stores location information of the street light and the photos taken by the camera unit. The central control unit further transmits the photo and the location information obtained from the storage unit to the server via the communication unit. A related method is also provided.

Abstract: A charging management system applied in a public facility includes a communicating unit communicating with a server with an online payment system, a charge interface, a power converting unit, a billing unit, and a control unit. The power converting unit converts power provided by a power supply to charge an electronic device connected to the charge interface. The control unit generates an electronic bill according to a charging cost computed by the billing unit, sends the electronic bill to the server, and communicates with the online payment system of the server to pay for the electronic bills. A related method is also provided.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a robot and a control method adapted for the robot. The method includes a) measuring time; b) performing a normal biological action when the time reaches a beginning time of a biological function; c) judging whether an instruction is received while during the biological function; d) if the instruction is received while during the biological function, fetching an action adjustment parameter of the biological function and performing an output; e) after the output is finished, resuming performing the normal biological action; and f) stopping the normal biological action when the time reaches an ending time of the biological function.

Abstract: A method of managing medias, including steps of: receiving medias; detecting whether the media includes a time information including a start time, a finish time, and a display time interval; comparing the current date and time with the start time if the media includes the time information; displaying the media every the display time interval if the current date and time reaches or goes beyond the start time but does not reach the finish time. The time information can be added to the metadata of the media by a user before the media is sent to a receiver. The present invention further provides an electronic device capable of executing the above steps.

The method receiving an incoming call decoding the phone number of the incoming call so as to obtain a digit set from the phone number stored in the data storage system. The method further includes determining a call number character of the incoming call and assigning musical notes associated with the numbers of the digit set according to the musical note table. Furthermore, the method includes obtaining corresponding audio clip of each note from an audio clip database and outputting the audio clips with the corresponding rhythm of the call number character of the incoming call through a music output apparatus.
