    Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the viscosity of a fluid is provided. The apparatus includes a vessel for containing a supply of the fluid and a member. The member is positionable within the vessel for displacement within the fluid. The apparatus also includes a measuring mechanism connected to the member and operably associated with the vessel for measuring the force required to displace the member within the fluid. The measuring mechanism is adapted to measure the force required to displace the member within the fluid. The force is indicative of the viscosity of the fluid.
