    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to hair styling compositions that exhibit non-Newtonian shear thinning behavior during use. The hair styling composition include: (a) one or more fatty amides, fatty alkanolamides, and/or alkoxylated fatty amides; (b) one or more non-hydroxy substituted fatty acids; (c) one or more hydroxy substituted fatty acids; (d) at least 70 wt. % of one or more low-polar oils; and less than 2 wt. % of water. Additional components such as, for example, alkoxylated polyol esters, water-soluble organic solvents, and other miscellaneous ingredients, can optionally be included in the hair styling compositions. The hair styling compositions are particularly useful for styling or shaping hair and for providing hold, discipline, and texture to hair.
