    Abstract: Systems and method are disclosed for enabling a User Equipment (UE) that is served by a first cell in a first network to be configured with measurement gaps for acquiring system information (SI) of a second cell in a second network. In one embodiment, a method performed by a UE for acquiring SI of a second cell in a second network using a measurement gap(s) on a first cell in a first network comprises determining candidate SI positions on the second cell and indicating, to a network node, information which identifies the candidate SI positions on the second cell. Embodiments of a UE and further embodiments of methods of operation thereof are also disclosed. Embodiments of a first network node and methods of operation thereof are also disclosed.

    Abstract: A method for a handover procedure comprises establishing a connection with a source network node of a first core network; receiving a radio resource control (RRC) message including an information element, wherein the information element indicates a second core network associated with a target network node; applying security parameters based on the second core network indicated in the information element; and performing a handover toward the target network node using the applied security parameters. The method provides an indication in RRC connection reconfiguration procedure to indicate the UE the core network of the target network node, so that the UE may recognize that this is an inter-system handover and apply corresponding security parameters for performing the handover without additional signaling.

The UE(s) may send a reconfiguration request to modify the NES operation for one or more cells, for example to avoid a degradation in service that may negatively impact key performance indicators or quality of experience. In response, the network node may modify the NES operation. The network node may then send an updated indication about the modified NES operation for the one or more cells.
