  • Patent number: 10320977
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method in which a device comprising a processor detects a communication session between a calling device and a called device, and receives a motion signal from the called device; the motion signal is generated at a motion sensor of the called device during or after the communication session. The device analyzes the motion signal to determine whether a portion of the motion signal corresponds to a preselected motion of the called device and whether a subsequent call from the calling device accordingly is to be blocked. Responsive to a determination that the subsequent call is to be blocked, the device also updates a list of blocked caller identifiers associated with the called device to add an identifier associated with the calling device. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10045189
Abstract: An enhanced wireless home phone (WHP) component for use in an emergency call service network is presented herein. A method can include in response to determining that address information representing an address corresponding to a subscriber identity associated with a wireless service has been included in a data store corresponding to an emergency telecommunication service, determining whether a location of a wireless communication device associated with the subscriber identity satisfies a defined condition with respect to a distance of the wireless communication device from the address; and in response to determining that the location of the wireless communication device satisfies the defined condition, and in response to determining that a communication corresponding to the emergency telecommunication service has been received from the wireless communication device, sending the address information directed to a public safety answering point device.

  • Patent number: 10038781
Abstract: A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may include, for example, receiving a new call request in response to equipment of a calling party placing a call from a calling-party location to equipment of a called party, wherein the new call request includes an identity of the equipment of the calling party. An identity of the calling-party is determined based on an association between the identity and the equipment of the calling party. A location of the equipment of the calling party is determined and a location indicator is generated based on the identity of the calling-party and the location of the equipment of the calling party. The location indicator is presented to a display of the equipment of the called party. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080046363
Abstract: An automated system enables presenting bills and paying bills in a convenient, secure and timely manner. The automated system stores user information in a database, the user information including account information for each user. Based on the user account information, the system generates a bill for services rendered during a predetermined time period. Once the bill has been generated, the system automatically initiates communication with the user through a call generator. Once a communication line has been established, the system may authenticate the user and then provides option information to the user, the option information including at least one of a payment option, a detailed bill information option, and a deferred payment option.
