  • Patent number: 5156587
Abstract: A method and apparatus for destroying or retarding growth of malignant cells and tumors using one or more coils of wire, externally applied to the body, for chosen periods, which are connected to an alternating current source to produce a low frequency sinusoidal magnetic field of desired intensity at the irradiated malignant region to be treated.

  • Patent number: 4971326
Abstract: An indoor-outdoor golf practice device for use with all golf club woods, irons and wedges wherein a lightweight practice golf ball is attached with a selectable length cord to a single fold-over, flexible flap. The flap contains one or more small calibration weights at its opening end and covers distance-marker scales, with each scale corresponding to a particular range to be measured. The kinetic energy at a particular point in the flight trajectory of the well-hit light-weight properly positioned practice ball, which simulates a roughly 250 yard drive is sufficient to fully open the fold-over flap with a 10 foot tether cord, thus exposing the high range full scale markers up to 250 yards.

  • Patent number: 4406545
Abstract: A technique for identifying and measuring a first surface area and apparatus for aiding such identification are disclosed. Each incremental portion of said first surface area and at least adjacent portions of surrounding surface areas are illuminated with diffuse light incident through a predetermined sectorial angle related to an anticipated waviness of the surface areas. The first surface area so illuminated is then measured by opto-electronic measuring techniques whereby measuring errors caused by shadow effects due to waviness in the surfaces are minimized by substantially uniform light dispersion within the sectorial angle.

  • Patent number: 4220966
Abstract: The inner wall of a cylindrical glass envelope is delineated by a combination of a diffused light source and peripheral shutters placed behind the envelope. The precise position of the shutters is adjusted to block some of the peripheral light from the source from reaching the envelope. When the article is viewed from the front, dark lines delineate the lateral extent of the inner wall of the envelope. With the help of such a delineation it is possible to check the accuracy of the assembly of contacts in a miniature mercury-wetted sealed contact switch relative to the inner surface of its glass envelope.
