  • Patent number: 9473728
Abstract: Method, computer storage device, and system that establish communication with at least first and second sensors, receive information from the sensors, and determine whether the information from the first sensor satisfies a first alert threshold. It is also determined whether the information from the second sensor satisfies a second alert threshold. Responsive to a determination that the information from the first sensor satisfies the first alert threshold and that the information from the second sensor does not satisfy the second alert threshold, an alert signal is not generated. On the other hand, responsive to a determination that the information from the first sensor satisfies the first alert threshold and that the information from the second sensor satisfies the second alert threshold, the alert signal is generated for output thereof to a display device.

  • Patent number: 8964121
Abstract: An audio video display device (AVDD) system includes a display, a processor controlling the display, and a computer readable storage medium accessible to the processor and programmed with instructions. The instructions cause the processor to establish communication with at least one sensor. The instructions then cause the processor to receive information from the sensor conforming to an application programming interface (API) provided by a manufacturer of the AVDD to an entity affiliated with the sensor, or sent from the AVDD to the sensor. Thereafter, the instructions cause the processor to present the information from the sensor on the display in accordance with the API.

  • Publication number: 20130229579
Abstract: A graphic representation of a home AV system is shown on a video display in the system depicting CEC device hierarchy, if desired according to their physical addresses. Devices that failed to obtain physical addresses also can be depicted so indicating, and HDMI physical addresses and device types of each device may also be indicated. Furthermore, the path currently in use from an active source to the active sink is shown, as are alternate AV paths. At the initial setup or when new devices are to join the network, the graphic representation can be automatically presented, if desired with help text on screen to guide the user. A debug/information button is provided to the user in the case the devices are not functioning correctly.

  • Publication number: 20020033780
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for generating auto sizing and position data on a video monitor in response to a plurality of video signals. Basic parameters are determined based on the video signals; and derived parameters are calculated using a standardized formula from the basic parameters. The basic and derived parameters provide the auto sizing and positioning data.

  • Patent number: 6266097
Abstract: A system for processing a video signal is described. Components of the video signal, such as the horizontal sync signal, undergo time delays as the signal propagates and is processed by circuit elements. In order to properly align the components of the video signal for further processing, compensation for the different time delays is introduced.

  • Patent number: 6259484
Abstract: A method and apparatus for centering an active video signal on a display screen is described. In one embodiment, the method includes calculating an initial positioning value, which corresponds to an initial position of the active video signal on the display screen. A target positioning value is then determined using linear interpolation. The target positioning value is a rough estimate and provides a big pre-jump of the active video signal from the initial position to a target position, which positions the active video signal near the center of the display screen. A bi-sectional fine tuning technique may then be utilized to center the active video signal on the display screen. This method may be performed using a feedback loop that comprises a microcontroller, a digital signal processor, and an on-screen display circuit.

  • Patent number: 6259483
Abstract: Determining a phase shift compensation for automatically centering an image by measuring a start time delay between a horizontal scan line signal and an active video signal, measuring an end time delay between the active video signal and the horizontal scan line signal, and computing a phase shift for a horizontal flyback signal using the start time delay and the end time delay. A system to center an image on a monitor includes a video processing circuit and a rasterizer. The video processing circuit receives a video signal and measures a start time delay and an end time delay between a horizontal scan line signal and an active video signal. The circuit generates a phase shift used to generate a horizontal flyback signal using the measured start time delay and the end time delay. The rasterizer receives the output of the video processing circuit to control a scanning element.
