Abstract: The present disclosure provides communication apparatuses and communication methods for optimising system information (SI) acquisition for new radio (NR) devices. The communication apparatuses include a communication apparatus which comprises a receiver, which in operation, receives control information relating to a first period and/or a second period; and circuitry, which in operation, acquires system information (SI) in the first period if a first condition is met, or acquires the SI in the second period if a second condition is met.
