Abstract: Disclosed are a device and method for detecting defects of a high-voltage cable cross-bonded grounding system. The method comprises: selecting a protective grounding box of a cross-bonded grounding system, respectively connecting a signal excitation coupler to A-phase, B-phase and C-phase coaxial cables of the protective grounding box, selecting a stable signal with a frequency different from a power frequency or a field interference frequency, and testing effective current values and phases responded by the A-phase, B-phase and C-phase coaxial cables when the stable signal with the frequency F1 is injected into the A-phase, B-phase and C-phase coaxial cables of the protective grounding box in a coupled manner; and obtaining resistances and inductances of branch circuits of the cable cross-bonded grounding system by calculation according to measurement data, and determining if the cable cross-bonded grounding system has a connection defect.

Abstract: Devices, methods, and non-transitory program storage devices are disclosed to provide enhanced images in multi-camera systems, e.g., by using information from images captured by cameras with different properties in terms of optics and/or sensors. In one embodiment, the techniques comprise: obtaining a first image from a first image capture device, wherein the first image has a first field of view (FOV) and a first set of quality characteristics; obtaining a second image from a second image capture device, wherein the second image has a second FOV and a second set of quality characteristics, and wherein the second FOV partially overlaps the first FOV; obtaining a neural network that produces a modified second image having a modified second set of quality characteristics determined by the neural network attempting to match the first set of quality characteristics; and generating an output image based, at least in part, on the modified second image.

Abstract: Devices, methods, and non-transitory program storage devices are disclosed to provide enhanced synthetic Shallow Depth of Field (SDOF) images, e.g., by using information from images captured by image camera devices and one or more Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) trained to determine how much blurring should be applied to pixels in a mask region (e.g., a region of pixels having an indeterminate foreground or background status and threshold level of gradient magnitude) within an image, given context from surrounding pixels in a reference image and/or an unenhanced synthetic SDOF image. To train the DNNs, various sets of ground truth DSLR images of static scenes, captured at varying aperture settings, may be analyzed.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to scheduling program tasks in a server computer system. An example server computer system is configured to maintain first and second sets of task queues that have different performance characteristics, and to collect performance metrics relating to processing of program tasks from the first and second sets of task queues. Based on the collected performance metrics, the server computer system is further configured to update a scheduling algorithm for assigning program tasks to queues in the first and second sets of task queues. In response to receiving a particular program task associated with a user transaction, the server computer system is also configured to select the first set of task queues for the particular program task, and to assign the particular program task in a particular task queue in the first set of task queues.

The system and method identify the values of various metrics relating to a database query. These metrics include map phase and reduce phase durations and various related metrics. The system and method gather statistics of multiple queries to determine correlation levels between the metrics and the map phase and reduce phase durations. Based on the statistics, the system and method determine whether one or both of the map and reduce phases for a query/response are taking longer than expected. If the durations are longer than expected, the system identifies the delay as caused by data skew and informs the originator of the query.
