  • Patent number: 8239481
Abstract: A system and method for implementing open-protocol remote device control are provided. A user accesses a common user interface for controlling one or more networked devices. Utilizing the interface, the user selects one or more actions. The selection is encoded in a standard protocol and transmitted to a premises server. The premises server obtains the selection, accesses a device interface database and translates the selection into a device-specific protocol. The translated instruction is transmitted to the selected device for implementation. The user interface then obtains any device return data for display on the user interface.

  • Patent number: 7627665
Abstract: A system and method for implementing an integrated information system are provided. A premises server is in communication with a variety of information sources that produce monitoring data for a premises. The premises server collects, presents, and transmits the monitoring device data to a central server capable of processing data from multiple premises servers. The central server receives the data and traverses one or more logical rule sets to determine whether the inputted data violates the rules. Based on an evaluation of the rules, the central server generates outputs in the form of communication to one or more authorized users via a variety of communication mediums and devices and/or the instigation of a variety of acts corresponding to the evaluation of the rules.

  • Publication number: 20020104094
Abstract: A system and method for processing digital images are provided. A control server obtains digital images from one or more digital capture devices. The digital images can be processed to detect an event, such as movement. Additionally, user-defined zones may be further utilized to exclude specific areas or limit processing to specific areas.

  • Publication number: 20020075307
Abstract: A graphical user interface is used for the dynamic management of remote devices. In a Web-based computing environment, browsers are used to remotely access data from devices attached to computer systems. Through the graphical interface displayed on a monitor, the user interacts dynamically with the remote device. That is, the actions of the user within the means of the graphical user interface effect actions, changes, and updates in the remote hardware as if it were a local resource.
