  • Publication number: 20120107719
Abstract: This invention discloses an electrocatalyst for membrane electrode assembly, and its preparation method, as well as a fuel cell membrane electrode assembly. An electrocatalyst for fuel cell application, it is featured that the electrocatalyst is prepared by supporting precious metal (10-60 wt %) on a composite carrier which is prepared by depositing water-containing substance (0.3-10 wt %) on carbon material; Using the catalyst invented by this invention as anode catalyst, an fuel cell membrane electrode assembly with excellent non-humidification performance can be prepared by normal procedures. No need to construct a water retention layer, no need to add water retention material in proton exchange membrane, it avoids the possible problems caused by adding water attention material into proton exchange membrane or inserting a water retention layer. The approach suggested by this invention is a simple and effective approach to realize non-humidification membrane electrode assembly.

  • Publication number: 20110068890
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for thin film device. The method for manufacturing a thin film negative temperature coefficient thermistor is disclosed. It includes selecting a substrate, a temperature-sensitive layer, inner electrodes, a protective layer and end electrodes. The temperature-sensitive layer is an NTC thin film, the inner electrodes have a comb-shaped structure. The resistance value of the present invention can be regulated by changing material composition and the width, gap, length of comb-shaped electrodes, which are not influenced by the error of the thermistor physical size. In present invention, a high temperature glaze is engaged to smooth the surface of cheaper ceramic substrates. This process reduces the manufacturing cost, improves the structure, enhances the reliability and the yield and thus expands the application scope of the NTC thin film thermistor chips. The invention has an industrial practicability.

  • Patent number: 7029915
Abstract: Highly purified hepatic stem cells are trans-differentiated into pancreatic endocrine hormone-producing cells by culturing them in vitro in a medium containing high levels of glucose. These trans-differentiated cells express insulin, glucagon, and pancreatic polypeptide, but not hepatocyte protein Hep-par. When stimulated with glucose, these cells synthesize and secrete insulin, a response enhanced by nicotinamide. Transplantation of these trans-differentiated cells into a hyperglycemic animal normalizes blood sugar levels in the animal.

  • Publication number: 20040063204
Abstract: Human bone marrow-derived stem cells are differentiated into pancreatic endocrine marker-expressing cells in vitro by first culturing human bone marrow mononuclear cells in a tissue culture container to obtain cells that adhere to the container, and continuing to culture the adherent cells until they become morphologically homogenous; second, culturing the morphologically homogeneous cells in a medium containing high glucose levels at least until the cells express detectable levels of glucagon, insulin, and mRNAs encoding insulin, Pdx-1, and NeuroD; and third, culturing the cells in a medium containing low glucose levels, nicotinamide, and exendin 4. Transplantation of pancreatic endocrine marker-expressing cells made in this manner can reduce hyperglycemia in a diabetic animal.

  • Publication number: 20030124127
Abstract: A molecule is targeted to a leukemia cell by first contacting the cell with a retinoid in an amount effective to increase the expression of a marker in the cell, and the contacting the cell with an agent that specifically binds the marker. For directing a molecule to an acute promyelocytic leukemia cell, the cell is contacted with all-trans retinoic acid to induce or increase expression of CD52 on the cell. The cell is then contacted with a molecule, such as an anti-CD52 antibody, that specifically binds the CD52 expressed on the cell.
