  • Publication number: 20200314663
Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which beam configuration management service is provided. A network device of a wireless access network provides the service that includes identifying redundant configurations across carriers associated with a cell group, and links the common beam configurations to these carriers. The service also includes identifying any difference beam configurations relative to the common beam configurations for a carrier. The service may transmit this beam configuration information in a control plane message to an end device. The end device may use the beam configuration information.

  • Publication number: 20200296594
Abstract: Systems and methods provide reliable voice connections and highest possible data rates in New Radio dual-connectivity environments, given limitations of available spectrum. A system includes a first wireless station and a second wireless station. The first wireless station provides a shared spectrum of a first frequency band, the shared spectrum including a first spectrum for a first cellular wireless standard and a second spectrum for a second cellular wireless standard. The second wireless station is at least partially within a coverage area of the first wireless station and provides a third spectrum for the second cellular wireless standard. The third spectrum is a millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum. The first wireless station broadcasts cell parameters barring an end device in an idle mode from camping on the second spectrum. The first wireless station or the second wireless station triggers the end device to swap to the second spectrum when a paging request for a voice call is received.

  • Patent number: 10778729
Abstract: A network device determines radio frequency (RF) conditions at a first endpoint and a second endpoint of a call or session. The network device determines optimum first codec parameters for the determined RF conditions at the first endpoint of the call or session, and determines optimum second codec parameters for the determined RF conditions at the second endpoint of the call or session. The network device sends the first codec parameters to the first endpoint for altering operation of a first codec at a first device at the first endpoint. The network device sends the second codec parameters to the second endpoint for altering operation of a second codec at a second device at the second endpoint.

  • Publication number: 20200228967
Abstract: A user device provides, to a network, information associated with the user device, and receives, from the network, a multi-bit network indication that indicates access technologies, services, and network capabilities provided by the network. The user device determines whether the user device is in a home network or a visited network based on the multi-bit network indication. The user device passes bits of the multi-bit network indication to an upper layer when the user device is in the home network or passes a portion of the bits of the multi-bit network indication to the upper layer when the user device is in the visited network. The user device receives a selection of one of the access technologies, the services, or the network capabilities, and receives, from the network, the one of the access technologies, the services, or the network capabilities for the user device based on the selection.
