  • Publication number: 20240380725
Abstract: A gateway wirelessly connected to a mobile network receives traffic for a user equipment device (UE) connected to the gateway. A router of the gateway identifies a network slice, from a set of network slices potentially supported by the mobile network, for the traffic, and applies network address translation (NAT) policy rules to select a NAT type from multiple different NAT types to perform for the traffic based on the identified network slice. The router of the gateway performs the selected NAT type for the traffic and forwards the traffic to a gateway modem for transmitting towards the traffic's destination.

  • Publication number: 20240364679
Abstract: A method, a network device, and a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium are described in relation to an EASDF secure service. The EASDF secure service may include a network-side service that may validate access and authorization to use a domain name system (DNS) resolver device, such as an edge application server discovery function. The network-side service may validate access and authorization of an end device based on tokens. The EASDF secure service may include an end device-side service that includes a token with a DNS query to the DNS resolver device. The end device-side service may further provide authorization regarding access and use of applications, networks, and application devices that host applications and/or assets by the end device at the end device. The end device-side service may determine access and/or authorization based on tokens and a validation procedure performed at the end device.

  • Publication number: 20240323817
Abstract: A device, such as a User Equipment (“UE”), may identify that the device is communicatively coupled to a wireless network via a particular network slice. The particular network slice may be associated with a particular set of Quality of Service (“QoS”) parameters, Service Level Agreements (“SLAs”), or the like. The UE may determine the particular network slice based on a slice identifier provided by a network interface of the device, based on attributes of traffic sent or received via the wireless network, and/or based on attributes of a wireless connection between the device and the wireless network. The device may identify a slice indicator associated with the particular network slice, and may present the slice indicator via a user interface of the device. The presented slice indicator may notify a user of the device that the particular network slice is being used for traffic sent or received via the device.

  • Patent number: 12075248
Abstract: A system described herein may maintain information associating one or more tokens to one or more network slices associated with a network. The system may receive a request, from an application executing at a User Equipment (“UE”), for communication session information, where the request includes a particular token. The system may identify a particular network slice associated with the particular token based on the information associating the one or more tokens to the one or more network slices. The system may receive communication session information, associated with the particular network slice, from the network, and may provide the communication session information to the application. The application may use the communication session information to communicate with the network via the particular network slice. The application may use such communication session information without providing an application identifier to the network.

  • Publication number: 20240284502
Abstract: A network device may receive an indication to enable sub-band full duplex uplink transmission for a first user equipment (UE), and may determine whether the first UE and a second UE are associated with a separation that is more than a threshold separation. The network device may enable the sub-band full duplex uplink transmission for the first UE based on determining that the first UE and the second UE are associated with a separation that is more than the threshold separation. The network device may deny the sub-band full duplex uplink transmission for the first UE based on determining that the first UE and the second UE are associated with a separation that is less than the threshold separation.

  • Patent number: 12028757
Abstract: A system described herein may provide a technique for ensuring that a User Equipment (“UE”) is provided an opportunity to scan for available cells in a wireless network in a manner that allows the UE to detect cells according to a particular radio frequency (“RF”) band. When receiving a measurement report from the UE that does not include cells implementing the particular RF band, a timer may be initiated during which subsequent measurement reports may be received from the UE. If a subsequent measurement from the UE includes a cell corresponding to the particular RF band, the UE may be instructed to connect to such a cell. Otherwise, the UE may be instructed to connect to another cell that does not implement the particular RF band.

  • Publication number: 20240205728
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein enable dynamic in-app subscriptions and controls for network slices. A user device receives a command to launch an application and identifies a preferred network slice for the application. The application determines that a network services subscription for the user device does not include the preferred network slice and obtains consent, from a user of the user device, to add the preferred network slice to the network services subscription. The user device receives, from a provider network, authorization for using the preferred network slice by the application and initiates a network session on the preferred network slice.

  • Publication number: 20240163713
Abstract: A system described herein may apply an authorized set of traffic parameters, such as network slicing parameters, Quality of Service (“QoS”) parameters, etc. to traffic associated with a particular application, without exposing an identifier of the traffic to one or more network devices of a network that handles the traffic. A client associated with a User Equipment (“UE”) may selectively apply traffic parameters to traffic associated with the particular application further based on whether a UE-side authorization of the particular application for the traffic parameters has been performed. The UE may present a user interface via which a user may select whether to authorize or deny the use of traffic parameters, authorized by the network, for the particular application. If the particular application has been authorized by both the network and the user of the UE, the UE may apply the traffic parameters to traffic associated with the particular application.

  • Publication number: 20240147342
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein intelligently multiplex different types of traffic in a fixed wireless access (FWA) environment by communicating with the user/application directly so that the network capacity can be maximized for different types of traffic. A routing device in a customer premises network receives a routing policy and receives an indication of network congestion conditions. The routing device identifies one or more sources of delay-tolerant traffic in the customer premises network, such as a local area network (LAN), and applies the routing policy to delay data transmissions from the source based on identifying the indication of network congestion conditions.

  • Publication number: 20240147269
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein improve a customer experience by enabling a user equipment (UE) device to accurately display a premium network icon based on network signaling. A network device stores configuration thresholds for supporting a premium cellular service and monitors network conditions against the configuration thresholds. When the network conditions meet at least one of the configuration thresholds, the network device provides to the UE device a signal for the UE device to present a premium network icon to a user.
