  • Patent number: 10951388
Abstract: A device may receive a signal from a wireless station; and determine a network-permitted Time Division Duplex (TDD) uplink duty cycle based on the signal. If the determined network-permitted TDD uplink duty cycle is greater than a maximum allowable TDD uplink duty cycle for the device, when the device performs TDD uplink transmission after receiving a scheduling grant from the wireless station, the device may decrease the TDD uplink duty cycle of the device or may decrease a time-average transmission power of the device.

  • Publication number: 20210075744
Abstract: A network device includes a network interface for establishing a communication session with another network device, a memory to store instructions, and a processor to execute the instructions. The processor may, for each time period during the communication session, adjust a size of a receive buffer of a socket. When the processor adjusts the size, the processor, if a utilization number of the receive buffer is greater than a high threshold: may determine a first new size for the receive buffer, and set a size of the receive buffer to the first new size. If the utilization number is less than a low threshold, the processor may determine a second new size for the receive buffer; and set the size of the receive buffer to the second new size.

  • Patent number: 10932238
Abstract: A user device parses system information block data, received from a first cell, to identify an upper layer indicator element, and determines, based on the upper layer indicator element, that the user device is in an EN-DC area. The user device causes, based on determining that the user device is in the EN-DC area, first display of a first indicator on a display of the user device, and sends a request to the first cell for a data connection. The user device receives, from the first cell, a message that indicates a second cell will initiate the data connection via a 5G NR millimeter wave connection. The user device causes, based on the message, display of a second indicator on the display of the user device for a threshold amount of time, and then causes second display of the first indicator on the display of the user device.

  • Publication number: 20210014917
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein improve a customer experience for non-standalone cellular networks by displaying a secondary cell group (SCG) network icon after data activity ends while a user device likely remains in SCG coverage. When connected to the SCG, the user device detects inactivity on the connection and initiates a first timer, based on the detecting, while continuing to present an SCG-related icon. If the first timer expires while the user device is in an idle state, the user device initiates a second timer, while continuing to present the SCG-related icon. If the user device detects an active connection before expiration of the second timer, the user device initiates a third timer while continuing to present the SCG-related icon. If the user device fails to detect a connection to the SCG before expiration of the third timer, a master cell group (MCG)-related icon is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20200383010
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein bring a 5G standalone-capable end device back into 5G service to leverage the 5G network's data capacity as soon as a VoLTE call is over. A network device receives a fallback connection, for a 5G New Radio (NR) standalone-capable end device, from a second network to the first network to support a voice call on the end device, wherein the fallback connection supports a voice-over-LTE call. The network device detects an end of the VoLTE call and initiates, in response to the detecting, a handover of the end device back to the second network, wherein the initiating occurs while the end device is in a radio resource control (RRC) connected mode.
