  • Patent number: 6126410
Abstract: A head cover assembly for a compressor according to the present invention includes a valve plate mounted onto the compressor cylinder having a first side, a second side, a first bore, and a second bore, a first valve connected to the first side of the plate for controlling flow through the first bore, and a second valve connected to the second side of the plate for controlling flow through the second bore. The first and second valves are attached substantially adjacent the center of the plate using a single fastener. A cover is mounted onto the second side of the valve plate. The cover includes a continuous side wall which surrounds the first and second bores, an enclosure wall extending between the top edge of the side wall thereby enclosing a volume above the valve plate, and a divider wall which extends between the side wall through the enclosed volume to define an intake volume and an exhaust volume.
