    Abstract: A compressor and a method of assembling a compressor. The compressor comprises a central section, a cylinder head, and a suction muffler. The cylinder head of the compressor is secured to the central section thereof, and the cylinder head defines a muffler recess including a locking portion. The suction muffler extends into and is secured within the muffler recess in pressure engagement with the surfaces of the cylinder head defining the muffler recess. The suction muffler includes a locking flange extending into the locking portion of the muffler recess to limit movement of the suction muffler away from the cylinder head.
