  • Patent number: 7341493
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a dielectric housing having a mating end and a cavity extending from the mating end. The cavity is configured to receive a mating connector through the mating end. The electrical connector also includes a contact sub-assembly having an array of contacts. The contact sub-assembly is received in the housing such that each of the contacts are exposed within the cavity to engage the mating connector. Each of the contacts have a beam portion and a tail portion, and each tail portion includes a base section joined to a leg at a bend. The legs extend downward from the mating interfaces in a staggered pattern to form first and second sets of legs aligned in different first and second planes.

  • Publication number: 20070293097
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a dielectric housing with a mating end and a loading end and having a cavity opening onto the loading end. The loading end is configured to receive wires conveying differential signal pairs. The electrical connector further includes contacts arranged in contact pairs and held in the housing, wherein the contacts have blade portions located at the mating end of the housing and wire terminating portions located at the loading end of the housing. The blade portions extend along different planes that are spaced apart and arranged parallel to one another, and the terminating portions within each of the contact pairs are configured to be joined to wires of a corresponding differential signal pair. The blade portions are arranged in a first pattern, and the terminating portions are arranged in a second pattern that differs from the first pattern. The second pattern is divided into sections, and each section includes the terminating portions of a corresponding contact pair.

  • Patent number: 7195518
Abstract: A connector includes a housing having a mating end, a wire receiving end, and a longitudinal axis therethrough. The housing holds a plurality of contacts grouped in differential pairs and arranged about the axis. At least one shielding member is located within the housing. The shielding member isolates each differential contact pair from an adjacent differential contact pair. An organizer is configured for attachment to the wire receiving end of the housing. The organizer defines a central opening that receives a plurality of signal wires carrying differential signals. The organizer includes a plurality of wire guides arranged about and extending radially outward from the central opening. The wire guides receive the signal wires.

  • Patent number: 7074092
Abstract: An electrical jack includes a housing having a mating end configured to receive a mating plug. A plurality of signal contacts are arranged in differential pairs, and each of the signal contacts carries a signal from or to a plug contact in the mating plug. A plurality of compensation contacts are provided. Each compensation contact engages a respective plug contact in the mating plug independent of the signal contact, and the compensation contacts provide crosstalk compensation.

  • Patent number: 6988914
Abstract: An electrical coupler includes a first housing having at least one receptacle jack. A second housing is coupled to the first housing, and the second housing includes at least a pair of receptacle jacks corresponding to the at least one receptacle jack. A splitter assembly extends between the first and second housing, and the splitter assembly includes a plurality of contacts located in each of the receptacle jacks. The splitter assembly includes a printed circuit board adapted to split input signals to said at least one receptacle jack to each of the pair of receptacle jacks. One of the first and second housings is adapted for mounting the coupler to a panel.
