  • Curved tubular articles and method

    Abstract: A method for the production of curved tubular elastomeric articles such as hose is described which uses a heat recoverable mandrel which when heated above its transition temperature range undergoes a transformation and reverts to a preselected curvilinear shape. A further temperature rise then vulcanizes the elastomeric article formed on the mandrel. The resultant curved tubular article has improved resistance to flex fatigue and obviates the problem of hot tear.
