    Abstract: A method for system recovery may be provided. The method may be implemented on a management server of a recovery system. The recovery system may further include at least one working server configured to perform one or more tasks and a global storage device configured to store a backup system or a system image file of each of the at least one working server. The management server may be connected to the at least one working server and the global storage device. The method may include, for each of the at least one working server, determining whether the working server is in an abnormal state. For each of the at least one working server, in response to determining that the working server is in an abnormal state, the method may further include assigning at least part of the global storage device to the working server and causing the working server to perform a first system recovery operation using the at least part of the global storage device.

    Abstract: Techniques for reducing reduce coding artifacts in video data are disclosed. In one aspect, a frame of video data is partitioned into pixel blocks, which are organized into slices. The pixel blocks of each slice are coded by a compression algorithm and an estimate of coding artifacts in the slice is made. For slices that are estimated to possess coding artifacts, the method revises coding parameters applied to pixel blocks in the slice and recodes the slice. The method substitutes recoded slices for originally-coded slices in frame, working in a priority order from a slice with the highest estimated likelihood of coding artifacts down to slices with lower estimated likelihoods of coding artifacts, measuring changes in the frame's coding size as it goes.

    Abstract: An ultra-wideband dual-polarized tightly coupled bowtie antenna array for ground-based polar ice sounding radar is described. The antenna array has a very large effective aperture to increase the directivity. At the same time, it is lightweight and low profile to minimize the payload and maximize the survey range. In an implementation, the antenna array operates between 180-620 MHz with a fractional bandwidth of 3.4:1. The broadband performance benefits from the tightly coupled antenna elements. A feature of the antenna array is the planar feeding structure without balun. The antenna array element has the microstrip feeding line integrated with one arm of the bowtie antenna. The other arm is directly fed by the microstrip line. By adding a ferrite core around the coax cable for common mode suppression, the bowtie antenna element can be fed differentially without using bulky vertical feeding structure and balun.
