  • Publication number: 20090100484
Abstract: A system for generating an output multimedia stream user multimedia streams each comprising partially- or fully-animated images that track the movement, orientation, and facial expression of respective users, a non-user multimedia stream (e.g., television broadcast), graphic elements, and video and audio effects. The system includes a multiplexer that generates a multiplexed stream from a plurality of user multimedia streams, a selector for selecting one or more user multimedia stream from the multiplexed stream, a multimedia director device for generating the output multimedia stream from the selected streams, non-user multimedia stream, and added graphics and video effects. The output multimedia stream may be sent to the user devices for generating an interactive experience, such as an online gaming experience. These systems may be organized in a hierarchical manner, whereby regional systems provide multimedia streams to a central system that generates an output stream from the regional streams.

  • Publication number: 20090086048
Abstract: An image processing system and related method for simultaneously generating a plurality of partially- or fully-animated images on a display that substantially track the movements, changes in orientations, and changes in facial expressions of a corresponding plurality of face images captured by an image capturing device, such as a camera or video recorder. The image processing system includes graphic tools to allow a user to create the partially- or fully animated pictures on the display. Additionally, the image processing system has the capability of generating a video clip or file of the plurality of partially- or fully-animated images for storing locally or remotely, or uploading to a website. Further, the image processing system has the capability of transmitting and receiving information related to the partially- or fully-animated images in a video instant messaging or conferencing session.

  • Publication number: 20080125558
Abstract: A novel semi-batch emulsion polymerization process for the production of fluoroelastomers is disclosed wherein a hydrocarbon anionic surfactant is employed as the dispersing agent. The surfactant has the formula R-L-M wherein R is an alkyl group having between 6 and 17 carbon atoms, L is selected from the group consisting of ArSO3?, SO3?, SO4?, PO3? and COO? and M is a univalent cation. Preferred surfactants are sulfonates of the formula CH3—(CH2)n—SO3M, CH3—(CH2)n—C6H4—SO3M, or CH3—(CH2)n—CH?CHCH2—SO3M, where n is an integer from 6 to 17, or mixtures thereof, and M is a cation having a valence of 1. Surfactant is not introduced to the reactor until shortly after the polymerization reaction has begun.

  • Patent number: 6887959
Abstract: A base resistant, substantially amorphous fluoroelastomer comprising (1) 10-40 mole percent ethylene units, (2) 32-60 mole percent tetrafluoroethylene units, (3) 20-40 mole percent perfluoro ether units selected from the group consisting of perfluoro(alkyl vinyl ethers), perfluoro(alkyl alkenyl ethers) and perfluoro(alkoxy alkenyl ethers), and (4) 0.1 to 15 mole percent of a cure site monomer selected from the group consisting of i) 3,3,3-trifluoropropene-1, ii) trifluoroethylene, iii) 1,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropylene, iv) 1,1,3,3,3-pentafluoropropylene, and v) 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene. Such fluoroelastomers may be vulcanized with polyhydroxy curatives. The resulting vulcanized fluoroelastomer compositions are resistant to attack by amines, strong bases and hydrogen sulfide and possess a combination of good low temperature and high temperature properties and they are resistant to oil swell.
